LASTING IMPACT - Dr. Charles Aiken is in his last few days with Pender County Schools - his legacy will live on in the Pender Innovative Learning Academy. Superintendent Dr. Steven Hill called the creation of the school an achievement "most would hang their career on". Instead, Dr. Aiken will continue to be a champion of public education at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. NAILED IT! - the bands at Surf City Middle, Topsail Middle and Topsail High nailed their performances at Music Performance Adjudication which was held at Havelock HS. Each band received either an excellent or superior rating! Congratulations to all who participated
