Congratulations to the Pender High School JROTC which is headed to Washington, DC to compete in the JLAB Championship. The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a nationally recognized academic competition created exclusively for JROTC students. Cadets who participate will test their knowledge and leadership skills through competing in a series of rounds against other JLAB teams.

TREND SETTERS - Congratulations to the first class of the Heide Trask National Technical Honor Society. Each student earned induction by being a CTE Concentrator, having a minimum 3.0 GPA in their concentration and/or overall GPA. Way to set the bar for future classes! Today Burgaw Middle School students met with students in India to talk about teens, health, and fitness. Both schools surveyed students, today they looked at the data to compare the findings. Thank you to Ms. Lanier, BMS 7th grade ELA teacher for making it happen

MOVING ON UP - congratulations once again to the 20 students who have advanced to the regional round of the science fair. Chris Luis, Emerson Lane, Makynli Gray, Alaynna Reiss, Malaya Jones, Matthew Curry, Juliet Gonzalez, Ellie Robinson, Sloane Chaney, Jairo Valentino Lopez Gonzalez, Harmani Bland, Miranda Harrell, Makaela McMillan, Jackson Coleman, Mason Lanier, Jordan Mejia, and Daniel Thigpen were all recognized for their hard work during Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.



During Tuesday's Pender County Board of Education meeting Board members voted unanimously to keep schools mask-optional. Masks have been optional since an October 2021 Board vote.


If you've ever considered becoming a substitute teacher, now is a great time to do it. The next Effective Teacher Training Class is scheduled to begin April 25, 2022 at CFCC's Burgaw Center. This class is required for substitute teachers in Pender County
