Let's get excited about our upcoming READBowl competition! READBowl is a global reading competition and begins on January 13. Students will receive a weekly reading log to record their minutes and will return it to school so their teacher can record the minutes online. We are excited to be a part of this opportunity, as it is a terrific way for students to engage in reading during the College Football National Championships & the Super Bowl. 📚🏈

Science All Around! 🔎 Mrs. Holt's 2nd graders are busy sorting gemstones by different properties while Mrs. Hart's 3rd graders used model swings to investigate force and motion to develop questions to guide their group investigations.

Let's support our amazing PTA. From membership drives, yearbook ads, meetings to spirit nights and more! They do it all! 🎉

Mrs. Burnett's third graders are experimenting with force using a ping pong ball and a maze.

In STEAM class, 1st grade is using snowflake blueprints to build their own snowflakes with marshmallows and toothpicks. They learned about symmetry, how snowflakes formed, as well as Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley.

4th grade is busy on this chilly Thursday morning working on their 3D names in art class. 🎨

We are looking for volunteers who would like to assist with proctoring. To learn more about proctoring, please contact Emily Johnson via email at emily_johnson@pender.k12.nc.us for details.

Let's give a warm welcome to our new 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Hahn. She's looking forward to getting to know her students and making this a great rest of the school year!💙🐢💚

We're happy to share with you that Sura W. from Ms. Full's 1st grade class is our Sea Turtle of the Week for the week of Dec 16-20. Sura, your school is proud of you. 💙🐢💚

A few last smiling faces before we sign off for the winter break. Thanks to Mrs. Holt's 2nd graders for spreading cheer around the school with their carols. Our staff would like to wish every student and their loved ones a happy safe holiday season, a winter break filled with cheer and relaxation, and a bright beginning to a new year. We are excited to see everyone back and rested in 2025. Together we will SURF!

Some holiday cheer for you on this lovely Thursday morning!
