✅ Tuesday, January 21: Early release for students. All after-school activities, including PACES and athletics, are canceled.
✅ Wednesday, January 22: Schools will operate on a two-hour delay at minimum.
We will provide an update on Tuesday if further changes, including remote learning, are necessary.

By now, I am sure you have received the update from PCS. Tuesday, we will operate on an Early Release schedule. There will be NO afterschool activities on Tuesday. PCS will continue to send updates district-wide as decisions are made.

Mrs. Mitchell’s 1st grade class is using their skills and having fun reading their Geodes book with a buddy. Keep up the great work, readers! 📖


3rd grade is deep into force & motion. Mrs. Holmes’ class used pendulums and a stopwatch to explore how the length of the string might affect the number of swings the pendulum can make!





Mrs. Clark’s second grade class was busy today! During science, they tested the hardness of solid objects using a penny and a nail in their scratch test.

On Monday, January 13th, Cape Fear Elementary School hosted the Pender County Schools District Science Fair, bringing together our brightest young minds! 👩🔬🧑🔬 Sixty-one students competed after excelling at their school-level fairs, presenting impressive projects based on science experiments or engineering principles.
