This is for 8TH GRADE only.

This Week's Word of the Week is EVALUATE. Evaluate means to decide the value or worth of something after careful study.
See how many times you can use the word at home with your students.

🚨 Reminder: athletes must be academically eligible based on first semester grades, have been present for 85% of school days during the first semester, and have all forms completed on Big Teams (including an up to date sports physical on file) to be allowed to stay for tryouts on Monday! 🚨

Have a safe and happy Winter Break! ☃️ The school office will be closed from December 23rd to January 1st. We look forward to welcoming students back on January 6th. Remember to stay safe and warm during the holidays!

Merry Christmas from the Hornets! 🐝 🎄🎅❤️
Special thanks to Ms. F & the art department, the Hornet cheerleaders 📣 and families, Hornet soccer teams ⚽️ and families, coaches, and everyone one else who came together to help our athletes & band participate in the annual Burgaw Christmas Parade!

🚨 Basketball tryouts will begin the day we return from winter break!
Make sure your athlete is ready! 🏀

Congratulations to our 8th grade boys soccer players! Your leadership has led this team to a winning season and a trip to the playoffs for the first time in....forever! 😝 (not literally, but seriously a long time) We know you will do big things as you move on to high school! 🖤⚽️🐝

Congratulations to our 8th grade girls soccer players on a winning season! They finished it off today with a BANG! 😉 We wish you the best on all of your future endeavors on and off the pitch! 🖤🐝⚽️

Penderlea students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades completed another milestone in the NC Career Development Plan with the help of PLS counselor Ms. Thompson, elective teachers, Bevin Stokes the PHS career development coordinator, and the middle school career development coordinator. Sixth grade students explored and compared math and language arts careers while seventh grade defined different areas of interest that match careers. Eighth grade prepared for high school registration by completing four year course plans. They stored their plans in a high school career development Google classroom so the plans can roll up with them. Ask them to show you their plan!

It's our final home soccer game and we will recognize our 8th grade soccer players immediately following the girls game in the gym. Come support our Hornets as we finish up our season with a bang! Let's GO HORNETS! #feelthesting
