Stefanie Milam-Exceptional Children

Congratulations on being the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year! Mrs Milam has worked at Penderlea for the past 9 years and has been in education for 23 years. She loves working with all the great teachers at Penderlea. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her daughter Lexi and son Brayden excel in sports and school.

Mrs. Lanier

Congratulations on being the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Lanier grew up attending Penderlea as a child, K-8, and came back "home" to teach in 2017. I enjoy teaching children to read, going to the beach and I’m currently training for my first ever 5K.

Jennie Treto-Teacher of the Year

Congratulations on being the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Treto graduated with her B.A. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Gannon University. In 2013, she received her Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Kelly Giarrusso-2020-2021 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations on being the 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year! She attended UNC-Wilmington where she earned her Teacher Certification in Elementary Education. Mrs. Giarrusso has taught for over 15 years.

Taylor Benson-1st Grade

Mrs. Benson started teaching in 2013 after graduating from East Carolina University with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2016, Mrs. Benson received her Masters Degree from ECU in Reading Education with an Academically and Intellectually Gifted add-on license.

Kristy Farrior-Bookkeeper

Mrs. Farrior attended East Carolina University. She is a native of Pender County and graduate of Pender High School. She is married to Mr. Farrior, Penderlea's Music Teacher. Mrs. Farrior has been working at Penderlea for over 10 years now.

Angela Powell-Instructional Assistant and Bus Driver

Mrs. Powell has worked at Penderlea since 2007 as an Instructional Assistant and bus driver. I enjoy working with the students. I graduated from James Sprunt Community College. I have three children and one grandson.
