🏀 Boys Basketball 🏀 and ⚽ Girls Soccer ⚽ workouts are starting soon!
To participate, athletes must:
✅Have attended the Parent Meeting with a parent/guardian
**There will be an additional parent/guardian meeting for those who did not attend on Thurs. 10/9 at 3:30 pm in Mrs. Umphress's Classroom**
✅Have all athletic forms completed in BigTeams

Penderlea middle school students completed another component of the NC Career Development Plan (CDP) this week. The NC CDP components are completed in 6-12th grade and help students define future careers and determine a path to get them to those careers through high school courses, the military, educational programs and on-the-job training. For more information, see the CDP section at the bottom of this newsletter. Watch for updates as other PCS schools complete components throughout the year.
Sixth graders discussed that skills can be learned and taught. Students talked about taking initiative to evaluate and get better at skills that align with future achievements. They listed three skills they already have and three skills that they need to work on.
Seventh grade students used an interest inventory to help them connect their interests to activities, courses and careers. They saved their results in a high school Google Classroom so they can build on the information as they continue their CDP over the next few years.
Eighth graders talked about work values like being able to make decisions, safe working environments, flexibility and structure.
