We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming all our students back to school on Monday, July 15th. Attention young soccer players and parents: Pender High Men’s Varsity team is hosting a one day youth developmental camp on June 29th 2024 from 9am-12:30pm. The camp will held at Pender High School. The cost of the camp includes a training shirt and a snack. This fundraiser’s goal to help lower the price for our team camp at Wingate University. Players ages 7-13 boys and girls are welcome. Youth camp will be lead by Pender student athletes. This camp will be fun and impactful experience for all young players. Good afternoon Hornet Families 🐝, I hope everyone is having an enjoyable and restful summer so far. My name is Stephen Harris and I was recently named the new principal of Penderlea School. As the new principal of Penderlea, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share my excitement about joining this wonderful community. While I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting many of you in person, I am excited to announce two upcoming meet and greet sessions with the community. These will be held on Monday, June 24th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and Tuesday, June 25th, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Penderlea in the gym. The beginning part of each meeting will include an introduction, followed by a Q&A and meet and greet session. I look forward to getting to know each of you and hearing your insights and experiences, which will be invaluable to me as I transition into this role. I understand that change can be challenging, and our school has experienced a lot of it over the past few years. My goal is to work with you to create a positive and stable environment for our students. My professional vision is built on, building trust, coaching potential, optimizing systems, and dedication to improvement. I believe that by focusing on these areas, we can make Penderlea an even better place for our children to learn and grow. On a personal note, I am married to my wife Heather, and we have a dog named Briar. I love to travel, I am an avid sports fan, and I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I look forward to sharing more about myself and my journey, while also learning more about all of you as we move forward together. I am committed to maintaining open lines of communication and working collaboratively with you to support our students. Together, we can ensure that Penderlea remains a place where every student feels valued and has the opportunity to succeed. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school. 1st graders enjoyed a STEM field trip at Skate City in Wallace last week. Students learned how roller skates are designed and what types of forces made them move including pushing, pulling and types of surfaces. They had the best time!
