These girls have been working hard and are ready to represent Penderlea with teamwork, determination, and Hornet pride. We’re excited to watch them compete, grow, and give their all on the court this season.

Ready for a spring-break adventure—through books? 🌟 Join our Spring Break Reading Challenge: read any books you love (fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, audiobooks), track your minutes, and log them in the Google Form (access via ClassLink or https://bit.ly/PLSMMRC). If you reach your grade-level goal you’ll win a prize when you return!

Goals (3 weeks): K–1: 75 min | 2: 105 min | 3: 150 min | 4: 195 min | 5: 225 min | 6: 225 min | 7: 255 min | 8: 300 min.

📣 Volleyball & Baseball Tryout Update 📣

Athletes interested in trying out for Volleyball or Baseball are welcome to attend the game tomorrow without penalty.

Tryouts will still be held tomorrow as scheduled. However, if an athlete chooses to go and support our Hornets at the Championship Game, they will be allowed to join on Thursday.

Please note: Thursday is mandatory for all athletes.

When students are present every day, they build consistent routines, stay engaged with lessons, and strengthen their understanding through daily practice and interaction. Each school day is carefully planned with meaningful instruction, collaboration, and hands-on learning experiences that cannot always be fully recreated once missed. We are especially proud of our outstanding attendance in February. Despite a season filled with illness and unexpected absences, our students and families showed resilience and commitment to learning. That dedication speaks volumes about the value our community places on education. We also want to recognize our staff for their strong attendance and commitment during this challenging time. Their consistency provides stability, builds meaningful relationships, and ensures that high-quality instruction continues each day. Good afternoon families,
Due to the forecasted weather, we will be moving the start time of our home game today against West Pender up to 3:45 pm. We will play as much of the game as possible, hopefully the entire game. We will still have the girls basketball game tip off at 4:30 pm. The recognition of all 8th grade cheerleaders, girls basketball players, and boys soccer players will be at the conclusion of the girls basketball game inside the gym.

Ready for lift-off! 🚀 Our 21st CCLC students had a BLAST during a Rocket Launch STEM lesson. They engineered paper rockets, used a straw + their breath as fuel, ran multiple trials, and compared distances. Along the way they learned the three parts of a rocket—cone, fins, and fuselage—and key science words: thrust, lift, drag, and weight.

Looking for a productive way to spend a few days this spring? 🌷 Join our Spring Intersession — March 23–25 from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. All students are welcome to attend for review, enrichment, and fun activities. Check the attached flyer for schedule and registration details.

Looking for an easy way to support positive behavior at school? 🎉 Penderlea is collecting individually wrapped snack donations (small bags of chips, snack-size cookies, pretzels, Goldfish crackers, and other individually packaged treats).
