Mrs Robertson and Ms Henry's preschool class finished their week with the third group of staggered students. They got the opportunity to learn new routines and transitions. Monday begins a new exciting adventure as all students begin.

Mrs. Johnson class is having their last day of staggered start and are so excited for the entire class to be together on Monday! For the next 6 weeks our study focus will be building a strong classroom community!!!

Cub Council is back!
We are excited to offer our 3rd–5th grade students the opportunity to be part of this student leadership group! Cub Council is a great way for students to share their ideas, represent their classmates, and help make a positive difference at Cape Fear Elementary.
Applications are due September 11th. Students can pick up an application from their homeroom teacher.

Mrs. Bass’s third grade class enjoyed being able to “teach” each other today for the third math lesson of the year!
Mrs Robertsons class spent their first staggered start day getting to know the school, peers, transitions, routines, and learning all about school wide expectations. This is the 1st group of the week and we can't wait to see everyone soon!

5th graders in Mrs. Garvey’s homeroom went to “Starbooks” today and had a book tasting! The students sampled different books and wrote down ones that interested them!
Today, 1st Grade kicked off Module 1 in Wit & Wisdom: A World of Books! Students worked with a partner to discuss things they noticed and wondered about in a new text. They also learned how to use the “Wonder Wheel” to help them generate thoughtful questions and deepen their thinking.

It was a Happy First Day!
The halls were buzzing with excitement, the cafeteria was filled with friends enjoying lunch together, and we even managed to beat the rain at dismissal!
