🔬⚙️ CTE Career Spotlight at West Pender Middle School! ⚙️🔬
On April 28th, students at West Pender Middle School had a unique opportunity to explore the world of nuclear technology, thanks to a special visit from Ms. Kelli Davis, Director of the Nuclear Technology Program at Cape Fear Community College. 💡🏫
Ms. Davis shared valuable insight into high-demand careers in nuclear technology and the education pathways available through CFCC. Her presentation sparked curiosity and opened students’ minds to exciting future possibilities they may not have considered before!
📣 CTE teacher Mr. Ken Smith reflected on the impact:
“Having Ms. Kelli Davis from Cape Fear Community College speak to our students was an incredible opportunity. Her insight into the nuclear technology field opened their eyes to exciting and high-demand career paths they might not have considered before.”

There is an accident on Hwy 17 near the Lowes Hardware and Bojangles restaurant in Surf City. No buses are involved in the accident. Expect delays on the buses getting to the bus stop and returning to school on time.

Ms. Henry has always had a heart for children, which led her to pursue a career in early childhood education. Now in her first year with the Pender County Preschool Program, she brings more than two decades of experience and a deep passion for helping young learners thrive.
Specializing in early childhood development, Ms. Henry loves working one-on-one with students, giving them the attention and care they need during these formative years.
Outside of the classroom, she’s a proud parent and a dedicated supporter of her children’s activities—especially Pender High School athletics and the JROTC program. ❤️🏫
