During Module 1 of Wit & Wisdom, first graders are reading a text titled Waiting For The Biblioburro. To tie into learning about "A World of Books," Ms.Carlisle had students create Biblioburros in art class.

A special shout-out to Melissa Wilson, Principal of Topsail Annandale Elementary, for National Principals Month! 🌟 Your leadership is the driving force behind our students' journey to excellence. Thank you for your dedication! #ExperienceTheExcellence https://bit.ly/45p0QLv

As Kindergartners have explored the five senses with Wit & Wisdom, Ms.Carlisle has deepened their knowledge through art. Did you know bats have sonic hearing because their sense of sight is poor?

Students used the printmaking process to create waves in connection to Katsushika Hokusai’s iconic woodblock print, Under the Wave off Kanagawa featured in Module 1. Plus they made scuba divers after reading their text about Jacques Cousteau. We love seeing the connections!

TAE and TMS teachers hard at work, putting this workday to good use, learning about literacy! When teachers grow, students grow! #lifelonglearners

October is PCS Month of Awareness. This week we wore Orange for Bullying Prevention Awareness. Check out the work students completed during guidance!

Kindergarten students used Wit & Wisdom skills when exploring Mike's Farm with their 5 senses. This trip allowed them to build their background knowledge prior to starting Module 2, Once Upon a Farm. Students are excited to continue expanding their understanding of farm life!

The Master Gardeners visited TAES to teach us about soil and plants. Ms. Meehan’s first graders loved learning about plant life and planting lettuce seeds in our garden.

Mrs. Krieger’s 3rd graders enjoyed reading with their book buddies from TMS!

When it comes to protecting children from fire, it is never too soon to be prepared. A huge thank you to the Pender County Fire Department for coming out to teach our student's about Fire Safety.

Mrs. Eubanks class had so much fun getting to see the firetruck on Friday! They were super excited when they found out they got to go inside of it! One of the favorite questions of the day was "Can we slide down the ladder?" Thankfully the fireman new exactly how to respond and explained how the ladder was for climbing! TAES is thankful for our first responders! Thank you for coming to speak with our students!

Mrs. Luke's class is learning and having fun! They are using place value disks to borrow, unbundle and regroup for multi-digit subtraction.

Students at TAES are Fab-boo-lous! They are working hard on their abc's and sounds, counting with manipulatives and completing sentences by choosing the correct suffix!
