A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Lee for planning such an incredible experience for our students—we are so grateful for your hard work and creativity! 💫 We’d also like to thank StarLab, the Mobile Museum, and Science Alliance for bringing engaging, interactive experiences to our campus, as well as our amazing parent volunteers who helped make the day such a success. Our first graders had a striking good time on their field trip to Cardinal Lanes Beach Bowl! 🎳 Students put their learning into action with hands-on experiences exploring forces and motion, all while sharpening their math skills by making ten. It was the perfect mix of learning and fun! We love seeing our Ospreys connect classroom concepts to real-world experiences! 💙📚

🚀🌙 Blast Off with NASA… from HOME! 🌙🚀

Hey families! Our students have an exciting opportunity to become virtual space explorers through NASA’s Virtual Guest Program!

Students can follow real space missions, learn cool science, and even collect digital “stamps” just like real astronauts-in-training. There are tons of events to choose from—including upcoming missions like Artemis II and supply launches to the International Space Station.

Ready for a techy dose of cuteness and curiosity? 🤖💙 Students in every grade practiced hands-on coding with Blue-Bot in class. 10 bots were funded by a Bright Ideas Grant from JOEMC and 4 more were donated by our amazing TAES PTA. Our students are coding, collaborating, and having fun with Blue-Bot! They’ll be out in action at STEM Day on Wednesday, April 1! ✨ We still need volunteers to help STEM Day stations run smoothly. Today, our Osprey staff and families came together for the Blue Ribbon Walk in support of Ms. Obremski and to raise awareness for colorectal cancer 💙 We are so proud of Ms. Obremski’s strength and resilience, and we are cheering her on every step of the way. Kindergartners are busy learning about the needs of living things. From planting radish seeds to watching the metamorphosis of caterpillars, there have been many magical moments this week.

Our 3rd graders had an amazing day exploring Airlie Gardens! 🌿🌼 Students learned all about pollinators, soil, and the important role nature plays in our world. They loved getting hands-on, observing, and discovering new things along the way. It was a fantastic trip full of learning, curiosity, and fun! 🐝🌱✨

📚 Book Buddies in Action! There’s nothing better than sharing a love of reading! Our students had a great time during Book Buddies, partnering up to read together, practice fluency, and enjoy some great stories. It was wonderful to see our older students supporting younger readers while building confidence and friendships along the way. Moments like these help grow a lifelong love of reading—one book at a time! ❤️📖

🌟 Feature Friday: Employee Spotlight 🌟

This week we’re recognizing Mrs. Deirdre Preston, Guidance Counselor at Topsail Annandale Elementary School.

Mrs. Preston stepped into her role as our full-time school counselor this year, and she has taken on a wide range of responsibilities in a short amount of time. She supports our work with 504 plans and MTSS, leads small groups, provides classroom guidance lessons, and meets with students individually as needed. For someone new to the position, she has handled these responsibilities with focus and care.

Mrs. Preston works hard to support students, staff, and families. She is patient and thoughtful in her approach, and she communicates clearly with families, even when conversations are difficult. Students know they have a safe place to talk, and staff know they can reach out to her for support.

She has quickly become an important part of our team at TAES.

What a great way to wrap up Read Across America Week! 📚🎉 Today our halls were filled with some of our favorite book characters during the TAES Character Parade! Students and staff had so much fun dressing up and celebrating the joy of reading together. From classic favorites to new heroes, it was amazing to see so many stories come to life right here in our school. Thank you to our families for helping make this event so special. It was the perfect ending to a week focused on the power and fun of reading! 📖✨

📚🏆 Huge congratulations to our incredible TAES 4th graders and TMS 5th graders for bringing home the 3rd Place Trophy at Battle of the Books! We are so proud of your hard work, teamwork, and dedication to reading.
