Our second graders have been diving deep into their unit on The American West! They’ve made amazing connections between the Native Americans, settlers, the government, the prairie, and the buffalo — learning how each one impacted the others and shaped life on the frontier. 🦬🌻
We love seeing their curiosity grow as they make sense of how all these pieces fit together in our nation’s history! 💫

🌱🐛 Our first graders got their hands dirty today with a special visit from the Master Gardeners! Students learned all about worms and how these amazing little creatures help plants grow. 🌿

🎉 New School-Wide PBIS Initiative! 🎉
Based on feedback from our parent survey this year, one of our big focuses this year is giving out more incentives for positive behavior.
We’re excited to kick off our new Class SOAR Awards at TAES! 🌟
Each month, classes will work together to earn SOAR Awards by showing our school-wide expectations and positive behaviors.
Every month will have a special focus, and for November, we’re focusing on Self-Control 🧠💪
Classes that consistently demonstrate self-control will earn SOAR Awards throughout the month. At the end of November, one class from each grade level will win a special Pizza Party! 🍕🎉
This is a great conversation starter to talk about with your students at home. You can also see our class tracker in the hall.
Let’s make November a month full of great choices, teamwork, and self-control, TAES! 💙💛

“Many people don’t realize that school psychologists do much more than testing. We support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being, collaborate with teachers and families to create positive learning environments, and help schools build systems that support all learners.”
Ms. Heckerman has been a school psychologist for 10 years (Four with PCS) and loves "the connections I get to make with students and staff".
We’re grateful for everything she does to support our students and staff! 💙

This week we’re celebrating Pat Stephens (Miss Patty), driver of Bus 289 at Topsail Annandale Elementary. For nearly two years, Miss Patty has been a familiar, caring face for students and families. Known for her positive attitude and genuine care, she ensures her riders are safe, supported, and always where they need to be. Parents and students alike are grateful for the consistency, kindness, and dedication she brings to her role every single day.
💛💙 Thank you, Miss Patty, for the joy and care you share with your students—you are an important part of the Topsail Annandale school community!
