✨TEACHER TUESDAY✨ Coach Milton Redd teaches PE for students in grades K–4 at TAES. He has made a steady and meaningful difference through his commitment to student health, movement, and wellness. Coach Redd plans activities that get students moving while also encouraging teamwork and basic physical skills. Families and staff say he works hard to make PE a positive experience for all students.
His support goes well beyond the gym. Coach Redd regularly helps with the school’s adaptive program, offering one-on-one assistance, patience, and encouragement during the school day. Many students stay connected with him long after they leave TAES, often returning from middle and high school to visit. Staff see this as a sign of the relationships he builds and the trust students have in him.
Coach Redd also works with staff on schoolwide events and family engagement activities, lending his time and energy whenever it’s needed. He checks in with colleagues, steps in to help without being asked, and is known as someone the school can rely on.
Thank you, Coach Redd, for your dedication to the students, families, and staff of TAES. 💛🌟

“The best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” 🎶
Our students spent the last day before break caroling through the halls and spreading joy across the building. Their smiles, laughter, and songs truly brightened our school! ✨❤️
We hope you’re enjoying a wonderful start to your holiday break! 🎄✨

TAES artists are getting ready for winter in the art room by creating winter scenes using balance, value, and texture. Look how gorgeous they came out!

🌟 Feature Friday: Employee Spotlight 🌟
This week we’re proud to recognize Mrs. Molly Nugent, Instructional Assistant and Bus Driver at Topsail Annandale Elementary School.
Mrs. Nugent is a dependable, dedicated member of the TAES community who consistently goes above and beyond to keep things running smoothly. In the classroom, she is a true partner — supporting instruction, helping students thrive, and stepping in wherever she’s needed. Outside the classroom, she continues to shine, taking on bus routes with care and even volunteering her time to support holiday activities and her sons’ teachers. 🚍✨
Her positive impact extends far beyond one room. Mrs. Nugent is the kind of coworker who is always looking for ways to help, improve routines, and contribute to a supportive school environment. Her initiative, reliability, and dedication make TAES a better place for students, staff, and families alike. 💛
💙 Thank you, Mrs. Nugent, for your hard work, your kindness, and your constant commitment to making a difference throughout the building!

❄️✨ What a magical night! ✨❄️
Our 4th graders shined on stage tonight at the Winter Holiday Concert! From their beautiful voices to their big smiles, they truly brought the joy of the season to life. We are so proud of their hard work and the festive spirit they shared with our school community. ❤️🎶
Thank you to our amazing music teacher Mrs. Payne, our 4th grade teachers, Mrs. Carlisle, PTA, and supportive families for making this night so special!

Our kindergarten students are diving into the classic mentor text The Three Billy Goats Gruff as part of our Wit & Wisdom ELA curriculum! 📚🐐
They’re learning to identify the problem and resolution, explore delayed gratification, and discover how working together can solve even the trickiest challenges.
We love watching our youngest learners grow as thinkers, readers, and teammates! 💛✨

Our December PBIS focus is Organization, and we are so proud of our students for working hard and showing what it means to be organized learners. Organization is key to success, and our kids are proving it every day!
Today, students used a graphic organizer/box method to tackle division—and just look at those smiling faces! They love dividing, and it’s wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they master new skills.

🎉 Happy 67th Day of School! 🎉
We celebrated being 6–7 days smarter, and our halls were full of learning and laughter!
Students hunted for hidden 6s and 7s around the building, staff battled it out in some hilarious 6–7 trivia, and prizes were popping up all day long. 🤩
It was such a fun way to celebrate all the growth and hard work our kids have put in so far this year. Here’s to the next 67! 💙📚✨

🎉🐮 Boosterthon Reward Day Fun! 🐮🎉 Our school-wide Boosterthon celebration was a hit! Students earned this reward with their hard work, and today they got to watch their teachers compete in hilarious blow-up suit races and even kiss a MINI COW! 🐄💋 The excitement was real, and our staff champion was none other than Mrs. Nugent! 🏆 Way to go, Mrs. Nugent—speed, style, and courage all in one! Thank you to our amazing staff and students for making memories we won’t forget. 💙💛
Thank you to Flew the Coop Farms , Llc for bringing Max the cow and Julie O'Neil for photographing the fun!

🌟 PBIS Update! 🌟
In November, our PBIS focus was Self-Control, and our students truly soared! Congratulations to our class winners with the most SOAR awards: Mrs. Gregory, Mrs. Eubanks, Mrs. Popolo, Mrs. Stewart, and Mrs. Luke! 🎉🍕 Each of these classes will enjoy a pizza party to celebrate their hard work and positive choices!
Looking ahead, our December PBIS focus is “Organized.” 📚✨ We’ll be on the lookout for classes showing strong organizational skills throughout the month. The classes with the most SOAR awards in December will earn a cozy hot cocoa and cookies celebration! ☕🍪
Let’s finish the year strong by staying organized and continuing to SOAR! 💙🦅

Check out second grade's special visitor! We learned how to make a real-life teepee/tipi, how to work with animal hide, how to make fire and animal traps. The children were able to see and touch artifacts. This experience was nicely aligned with our American West module in Wit and Wisdom and helps the children connect to the stories we're reading in class.

🎉📚 What an incredible day in Mrs. Bloodworth’s class! 🍂
Her students took the lead with impressive student-led conferences, proudly sharing their growth, and learning with their families. ✨
They also put on a wonderful program teaching all about the Pilgrims.
To top it all off, the class celebrated with a festive feast, enjoying food, friendship, and the spirit of Thanksgiving together. 🦃🥧

🔎🚪 During WIN time, our 4th graders put their critical thinking to the test in a fun and challenging Text Structure Escape Room!
Using teamwork, reading skills, and lots of perseverance, students worked together to solve puzzles and “unlock” their way out—all while deepening their understanding of compare/contrast, cause/effect, sequence, and more.
We love seeing learning come to life! 📚✨

4th Graders enjoyed creating Picasso faces using our new Chomp Saws. Ms. Carlisle was able to purchase these using the funds raised from Art to Remember. Students were able to use creative thinking skills to come up with asymmetrical faces.
