We are excited to welcome students back to campus tomorrow as we return to in-person learning on our regular school schedule.
Road and campus conditions have improved, and our staff is ready to support students as we resume normal routines. Please ensure students arrive on time and are prepared for a full day of learning.
Thank you for your continued flexibility and support as we navigate weather-related changes. We look forward to seeing our students back at Surf City Middle School tomorrow!

Today we spotlight Mr. Jonathan Hobgood, 6th grade counselor.
From the 6th grade team:
"He is kind, patient, and a good listener....he has a calming presence. He checks on us too! Always willing to help."
"He always shows up when needed. Kids like talking to him. He is very patient. He checks on kids during lunch and PA."
"He is helpful and follows through when we need him."
Thanks for all you do, Mr. Hobgood. We are lucky to have you!

Today we spotlight Ms Christie Smith!
(Ok kids, do you know which is the real Ms. Smith?)
Ms. Smith does SO MUCH for our school...counselor, Frenzy system coordinator, Megalodon leader, DnD Club, Frenzy store, Student Council, PECHS apps, before school care, and so much more!!
We are lucky to have her!

Teachers will post assignments and learning activities for students to complete remotely. Please note that attendance on the virtual day is tied to student work completion, so it is important that students log in, complete their assignments, and participate as directed by their teachers.
We will continue to monitor road conditions and weather updates. More information regarding the remainder of the week will be shared tomorrow afternoon once conditions have been reassessed.
With the extra time at home, this is also a great opportunity for students to curl up with a good book and record their reading minutes for the district reading challenge. Every minute counts!
