🎬 Lights, Camera, Soundtrack! 🎶
Mr. Judy's General Music class has been busy bringing their creative visions to life! Students wrote, filmed, and edited their own short films — and then took things to the next level by adding custom soundtracks. From dramatic scores to upbeat themes, every note helps tell their story. We’re so proud of their creativity and teamwork!

We have a reminder about two exciting events this week!

🍴 SCM Spirit Night – Tonight, October 20th!
Join us for Spirit Night at Shaka Taco in Hampstead and Surf City! Stop by either location this evening, mention Surf City Middle School, and a portion of the proceeds will support our school. It’s a great way to enjoy a night out while giving back to our community—thank you for your support!

Congratulations to the Pender County Middle School football champions, the Surf City Sharks! They finished 5-1 and scored the most points in the county, and finished their season with their 4th win in a row over Topsail Middle School. Go Sharks!

From our reporter in the field...
What a season for our Sharks football team! The boys fought hard all season long, sealing the deal with a 26–8 victory over Topsail and finishing with an incredible 5-1 record!
Colby Roberts ignited the energy on the field with the first touchdown of the game. Brycin Hicks followed with a powerful 11-yard run straight into the end zone, showing the team’s relentless drive! Colby Roberts scored again, plowing through Topsails defense. Capping off the night, Quarterback Wes Norman connected with Maddox Coleman for a picture-perfect touchdown pass!
After the game, the team was presented with a shiny new championship trophy to add to the school’s collection and proudly held onto the coveted helmet trophy!
From the first whistle to the final play, the Sharks showed grit, determination, and heart! Every player played with heart and brought energy that carried the Sharks to the top!
Congrats, champs!

Get ready to get messy, Sharks! The Color Run is FRIDAY! 🎨🏃‍♀️💨

To ensure your student has the best time and your car seats survive the ride home, we've compiled a highly-official, expert-level "Color Run Survival Guide."

Here’s what your runner should bring to protect their eyes, their clothes, and your sanity:

😎 Sunglasses, Goggles, or a Bandana: To shield their eyes from the impending rainbowpocalypse.

👟 Old Clothes & Shoes: Wear something you're okay with becoming a masterpiece of questionable art.

👕 A Change of Clothes: For the post-run transformation back into a non-human-skittle.

🧖 A Towel: For a quick dusting-off before they get in the car.

And now, a word from our lawyers (not really, but let's be safe): Please send your Shark with a water bottle. Hydration is key to successfully running from (and through) clouds of color.

We can't wait to see you all there FRIDAY! It's going to be ridiculously fun.
