We're proud to share with you the following responsible, kind and hard working kids. Just another awesome Thursday at SCE.

Love this! Our first graders are practicing their reading stamina during DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read). Your school is proud of you!

Check out Mrs. Hughes' first grade class, they're learning about shapes and identifying the attributes by using neon straws!

Third grade classes had a wonderful visit from the Rotary Club today. They presented and gifted each kid with a personal student dictionary. Students were very excited at all that’s inside-especially the sign language!

Congratulations to Mrs. Full's Kindergarten class. They're the most recent winner of the Golden Trash Can award. Mr. Jeff said that they work hard each day to make sure their floors are picked up and their supplies are in the correct areas. Great work kiddos!

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day but we appreciate those who protect and serve every day. Our school is thankful for our SRO, Officer Wyke. He makes sure that students, teachers and staff at SCE & SCM are safe. Thank you for all you do for us in our school community.

Today, Mrs. Livesey's first graders are revisiting their Classroom Promises. Each group worked on an area of expectations to come up with promises for the second half of the school year. They also decided that promises come from the heart so they are not calling them rules.

"helpful in the classroom and kind to others" 🙂 Sounds like Surf City Elementary 1st grader William Dike is starting off his educational career like a champ! He's the latest Star News Pender County Schools student of the week 🎉🥳👏👏👏https://bit.ly/3QfcjHv #PCSPride

While we were away for break Justin Page was making headlines! The Surf City Elementary kindergartener was tabbed as the Star News Pender County Schools Student of the Week! https://bit.ly/3CjSHMq #PCSPride

Some smiles to last you through the rest of this week.

Mrs. Burnett's third graders had some fun yesterday during Grinch day to try and complete some STEM challenges.

We'd like to share some students who go the extra mile and step up when they know something's not right. Your school is proud of you!

Mrs. Livesey & Mrs. Taylor's first grade classes are enjoying an authentic Polar Express day today.

Happy Holidays from Mrs. Gray's 3rd graders!

Check out all the green today....and THE GRINCH! Tomorrow we'll be wearing our holiday shirts and sweaters for the last day of holiday spirit week.

We are so thankful for the management at Harris Teeter who came out on Friday to cook a delicious lunch for the staff at SCE & SCM. Thank you all!

Cozy Friday wearing our holiday pajamas! Reminder, Monday is Grinch Day, be sure to wear green!

We're happy to share with you that Sarah Mae from Mrs. Taylor's 1st grade class is our Sea Turtle of the Week for the week of Dec 12-16. Sarah Mae, your school is proud of you.

Here's what 4th grade has been doing in art class with Mrs. Hanson. While creating their butterfly collage, they learned about symmetry, blending, realism and paint techniques.
