Such a great way to start this Friday. So many smiles and warm hugs! 🐢

We're happy to share with you that Quinn from Ms. Lagnese's 4th grade class is our Sea Turtle of the Week. Quinn, your school is proud of you. 💙🐢💚

October lost & found so far, 2 weeks until donation. Anything look familiar?

📣✨ October is National Principals Month! ✨📣
All month long, we’ll be celebrating the incredible principals of Pender County Schools by sharing short video spotlights. 🎥
From what inspired them to lead, to their favorite memories from school, to the advice they’d give their younger selves — you’ll get a chance to see the heart, humor, and humanity behind the title “Principal.” 💙💛
Stay tuned throughout October as we feature principals from across our district. We can’t wait for you to hear their stories and get to know them even better! YouTube - https://youtube.com/shorts/cCcvXUTIjxQ?feature=share

Students had a fun twist to their math problem sets in Mrs. Collins' math class. Students worked on teams to complete questions. Teams that got the answer correct got to come up to the bag of money to see how much their team won.

We're lucky at Surf City to have such wonderful teachers. Today, two of our staff members were recognized for all the amazing things they are doing at our school for our students. Thank you for making SCE a great place to work! ✨

Mrs. Allen’s class is exploring unknown words in their final Wit & Wisdom module 1 book, Sky Tree, before learning how to use context clues and morphology to define unfamiliar words.

Our Sea Turtles are wearing yellow this week to support Special Needs Awareness Week. Here's a tip! Remember that we are all unique with positive qualities, take time to notice the positive in others today. 💛

Mrs. Chandler's PreK class participated in an apple tasting activity. First, the students practiced identifying and naming different colored apples. Then they tasted the apples and practiced answering "yes/no" questions by stating whether or not they liked the apples. 🍏🍎

Bus 291's second run will be late this afternoon. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Good evening Pender County Schools families. As the storm system continues to weaken, we wanted to let you know that all schools will begin at their normal times on Monday. We look forward to having a great week!

Good Afternoon Sea Turtles,
Due to high water on Sloop Point Road, buses that travel that route will be taking an alternate road. This may affect stop times by a few minutes.

Thanks to everyone who wore green this week to support Mental Health Awareness. We learned how important it is to listen when talking to our friends. Being supportive of others makes our tough times easier. 💚

🎃 Ms. Lagnese and Ms. Stewart’s 4th graders had a spooktacular time reviewing for their science quiz on animal communication with a Halloween-themed Kahoot! 👻🧪 It was a sweet treat full of learning and fun! 🍬💡
Students in Ms. Mizell's 4th grade math class are exploring concepts of area and perimeter by designing dog pens, and creating restaurant seating plans for a floor layout based upon the story Spaghetti and Meatballs For All. 🍝

Sharing the love of reading! 💗📖Hannah from 5th grade came to read to all the students in her little sister, Madison's 1st Grade class. The students really enjoyed the story "Creepy Pair of Underwear."
