Please join us for a conversation about PCS's consideration of a three-tiered bus routing system and how it may affect our bell schedule. Join us Tues., May 23 at Heide Trask HS and/or Wed., May 24 at Topsail HS. Both meetings begin at 6pm in the school auditorium.


Because of a successful Boosterthon, the PTA treated us to a to friendly match of Tug of War on this sunny Friday afternoon. Mr. Allen, Mrs. Robins & grade level teaches went against the top earners from each homeroom. 💪









We're happy to share with you that Jason L. from Mrs. Xavier's 5th grade class is our Sea Turtle of the Week for the week of May 8-12. Jason , your school is proud of you.


Today, 2nd graders had the privilege to hear from a local author, David Sokolofsky, who wrote the book, The Little Surfer Boy. Dave is also a good friend of Mr. Allen, they've been friends since they were 10 years old. Thanks Dave for coming to Surf City Elementary, reading to us and adding your wonderful book to our library collection. It's official, your picture has been added to our author wall!



ATTENTION Current 5th Graders/Rising 6th Graders:
There is a Zoom rental meeting tonight from 6pm - 7pm for any student who has not attended a meeting for instrument rentals. This is for any student/family who has NOT rented an instrument but is enrolling in band class next year at Surf City Middle School. Meeting link is below and included in the image. Mrs. Hitchens' 2nd grade class has won the final golden trash can for the year. These students worked hard all year keeping their room clean and organized. Great work!


First grade had a great time visiting Fort Fisher Aquarium! 🐠

Mrs. McDonald's class playing a game called "Fishing for Trick Words". They are learning the Fundation Trick Words, but also learning how to work together. Keep up the great work Kindergarten!






Our 5th graders had the opportunity to tour Surf City Middle School today to get a feel for where they will be learning next year. SCM is excited have these wonderful kids!







1st graders are wrapping up their time with our awesome Master Gardeners Club by cutting the lettuce that has been grown to bring to the sea turtles. Great work first grade, your school is proud of you! 🐢🥬😁





Does any of this look familiar? Be sure to have your kids look in the lost and found for missing items. Glasses are in the front office with the nurse. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the school year.








We're proud of our Sea Turtles of the Week, Brody K. from Mrs. Rice's 4th grade class and Parker F. from Mrs. Burnett's 3rd grade class, who led the pledge at this afternoon's Surf City town council meeting. Great work, boys!




There is an instrument interest/rental night at Surf City Middle School this Thursday from 6pm - 7pm. This is for any student/family who was unable to attend the meeting on April 19th. Mrs. Wilkie's class celebrated Earth Day by making bird feeders and talking about ways to reduce reuse and recycle.
