It's a great day to be in Mrs. Edwards' first grade class! 🌟

We're happy to share with you that Winnie from Ms. Pressler's 2nd grade class is our Sea Turtle of the Week. Winnie, your school is proud of you. 💙🐢💚

Good morning Surf City Families. We just received word that Bus 291 is approximately 30 minutes late due to traffic. Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Mrs. Brunjes' 1st graders are spending some quality partner time learning about the heroic efforts of real-life librarian Luis Soriano in Waiting for the Biblioburro.

Mrs. Clark’s second graders explored weather instruments. They discussed what they thought the instrument is called and what it measures.

Mrs. Holt's 2nd graders participated in their first Socratic Seminar. The question was "How do things change in the fall?" 🍂🍁🧡 They used their speaking and listening skills to share ideas and connect those ideas using linking phrases. 💬🤫🧏🏻♂️

Good afternoon Sea Turtles. Bus 291 second route will be 15 minutes early today, and it will remain 15 min early in the afternoons until the regular bus driver returns. Thank you!

Mrs. Metivier's 3rd graders are busy this week! They're using dough to create models of landforms and water for their map unit. ⛰️🌊

Our kids are starting the day off on the right foot! 🧦🏫

Our PreK students are rocking the self check-out in the library this morning! 𝄃𝄂𝄂𝄀𝄁𝄃𝄂𝄂𝄃📚

Check out Mrs. Curry‘s 1st graders. They're practicing their phonemic awareness by tapping, mapping, and zapping their words to become amazing spellers! ✍🏻🔠

All buses have drivers in the morning. Bus 291 and Bus 284 will have substitute drivers. Thank you for your patience!

🧼💙 Let’s work together to keep PCS classrooms healthy!
✅ Encourage handwashing and covering coughs/sneezes
✅ Keep your child home if they have a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea
✅ Follow return-to-school guidelines for contagious illnesses like strep, pink eye, or chickenpox
By following these steps, we can limit the spread of germs and keep students learning. For more information, contact your school nurse or visit the CDC’s Infection Prevention Guidance for Schools: https://www.cdc.gov/orr/school-preparedness/infection-prevention/index.html

Our birthday girl Mrs. Sloop turned 60 today & she rocked it on the djembe🎉

1st graders in Mrs. Edwards' class are busy previewing books as part of their Wit & Wisdom unit, A World of Books and working on math fact fluency. Keep up the great work!

Good morning! Our morning car rider line continues to gradually improve. Thank you for helping it to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. We are still experiencing just a few parents parking and walking student to the cross walk instead of dropping off through the line like the other parents. This morning, parents were stopping the traffic to walk through which was creating a safety issue and also holding up the car rider line. Starting tomorrow 9/15, our SRO will be stationed in the parking lot. We ask that you please go through the car rider line to drop off your child. If you still insist upon parking and walking up, he will stop you and hold you until the car rider line has stopped and your child will cross. Parents will not be allowed across the cross walk. The tardy bell rings at 7:55. After 7:55, parents should park, walk up and check your child in with a tardy slip in the office. The only exception to this rule is students with an IEP with additional adult support who required hand to hand transfer in the mornings. Safety is the our #1 priority and will continue to drive decisions regarding the car rider line.

Mrs. Hanson is looking for some creative yearbook cover designers! If interested, see information below. ✏️🎨🖼️

🩺📖 Ms. Lagnese’s 4th graders turned into reading surgeons — dissecting The Circulatory Story to find the main idea, details, and figurative language! ❤️
