Dear Sea Turtle Families,
It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of Ms. Brenda Travers, former Receptionist at Surf City Elementary, and a valued member of our school community. While I did not have the privilege of knowing her personally, I have heard countless stories from staff and families about her incredible sense of humor, her strength, and her welcoming nature.
Ms. Brenda made a lasting impact on all those she encountered, bringing warmth, laughter, and a sense of belonging to everyone she worked with. Her dedication to our students and the school community was truly remarkable, and her spirit will continue to live on through the memories she leaves behind.
Please join me in honoring her memory and celebrating the positive influence she had on Surf City Elementary and our community.

Calling all 5th grade students who are interested in band class next year at Surf City Middle School! There is an instrument rental/reservation night on Wednesday 4/9 in the Surf City Middle cafeteria at 6pm. This meeting will have all details for parents on how to rent an instrument for band class and will also explain how band class works in middle school. Fourth grade had a great time at The Cape Fear Museum. They got to participate in several math activities, explore the history section, and engage with the current exhibits (The history of gaming and airplanes). They highly recommend a trip to Wilmington for this museum.
