September is a very special month for many reasons but this year it has been made even more special. September is Children's Cancer Awareness month and this year we have a hornet who was diagnosed with a rare neck cancer a few months ago. We would like to use our last week before break to help spread awareness for childhood cancers as well as support Lillian through her journey.
Lillian’s favorite Super Hero is Superwoman. Students and Staff dressed as their favorite super hero.

Tuesday: Another favorite sport of Lillian’s is Swimming. Students and staff wore a shirt that represented their favorite sport or sports team.

Monday: One of Lillian’s favorite sports to watch is Race Cars. At 7:45 am the school will do a school wide “Race to Read” for 15 minutes. Everyone in the school will be reading their favorite book.

Thank you to Atkinson Baptist Church and Board of Education member Mr. Ken Smith for your donation of cereal boxes for Penderlea students.
