Good afternoon current 8th grade parents!
So this year students have been busy getting ready for high school. Applications for the Early College have been done. All students have been choosing their electives for 9th grade.
The CAP (College Accelerator Program) application process is now live. Students listened to a presentation here at school by Dr. Lee and parents were invited to attend a night session on 2/13/23.
The application deadline is March 15. Students will be notified on acceptance or waitlisted status by April 10.
Attached is the link to explain the program. It is different from the Pender Early College High School. Below you will find the links to a video explaining the application process and the application.
This process involves many steps so please start as soon as possible if interested. It involves uploading a video and requesting references. Dr. Lee included her email in the application if you have any specific questions.

Thank you, Mrs. Burdette

Mrs. White’s 7th graders have been learning about forces and motion.
To demonstrate their knowledge, students designed and built balloon
cars from recycled materials! After racing, students calculated both
the speed of their car as well as the force that was used to help put
their cars into motion!

The Eighth Grade visited Pender High. They are getting ready to move on!
