🎓Seniors...it is time to start thinking about life after high school! One of the first steps will be FAFSA. Mark your calendars and be sure to attend the first FAFSA night to be held at Trask High School. This event is for Pender and Trask students.

The football game has been moved to Thursday, August 27th at 7:00 p.m due to incoming weather. Please help pass the word along. Stay safe, and show that Pender Pride!

PHS Parents & Guardians: As required by Session Law 2023-128 (Protecting Our Students Act), all North Carolina public school units must provide students in grades 6–12 with specific information related to child abuse and neglect within the first five days of school.

This law mandates the delivery of age-appropriate materials—including a video—developed by the Center for Safer Schools (CFSS). These materials aim to educate students on:

Recognizing signs of abuse and neglect (including sexual abuse),

Knowing how and where to report concerns, and

Understanding that reporting is confidential, as permitted by law.

Pender County Schools will show the required videos at the beginning of the school year, as mandated. Additional resources such as posters and student documents will also be distributed and displayed in accordance with the law.

🩺❤️ CTE Summer Camp Spotlight: Health Science with Ms. Garriss!
Future healthcare professionals got a hands-on look at the medical field during CTE Summer Camp at Pender High! Under the guidance of Ms. Garriss, students stepped into the role of healthcare providers by practicing proper PPE procedures, learning infection control techniques, and exploring the importance of patient safety.
From donning gowns, gloves, masks, and face shields to working together as a healthcare team, campers gained valuable experience while building confidence and discovering exciting careers in Health Science.
A big thank you to Ms. Garriss for creating an engaging, hands-on experience that inspired students to explore careers dedicated to caring for others. The future of healthcare is in good hands!

📢UPDATE - due to weather, our Car Show has been postponed to September 12th! Please mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you then!

Open house is TONIGHT, 4 - 6pm. Students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, locate their classes, pick up chromebooks, and 👀 see the progress on the construction projects ... we think you will be impressed! Chromebooks will be picked up from 1st period teachers. (Those of you without 1st period classes, please see Ms. May!) Doors will open at 4pm! Transportation information will be available in the cafeteria. We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

Our CTE Summer Camp students got a hands-on introduction to the world of Masonry, where they learned the fundamentals of bricklaying, measuring, leveling, and building with precision. From mixing mortar to laying their first courses of brick, campers discovered the skill, patience, and craftsmanship that go into every project.
It's amazing to see what students can accomplish in just a few days when they're given the opportunity to learn by doing. These future builders are developing real-world skills, gaining confidence, and exploring careers that help shape our communities.
Great job to all of our campers for their hard work and dedication—we're proud of everything you built this week!
