Dr. Breedlove spent the day at Pirate Nation, meeting with Dr. McNaughton and his dedicated staff. These visits are an opportunity to hear directly from those who make our schools great—our educators and support teams—who work hard every day to create a positive learning environment.
But the highlight of the visit? Connecting with students. Dr. Breedlove believes the best way to understand what’s happening in our schools is by speaking with students on their level, hearing their thoughts, and learning about their experiences firsthand. Their voices help shape the future of Pender County Schools.

Today, Dr. Breedlove spent an engaging afternoon at TMS with the Student Government Association! They asked some fantastic questions that sparked meaningful discussions about our school.
Last week was a blast for our 8th graders! They embarked on an amazing field trip to Raleigh, visiting The Science Museum, Freedom Park, and the Legislative Building. It was a fun-filled day of learning and exploration! 🧪🌳🏛️

✅ Tuesday, January 21: Early release for students. All after-school activities, including PACES and athletics, are canceled.
✅ Wednesday, January 22: Schools will operate on a two-hour delay at minimum.
We will provide an update on Tuesday if further changes, including remote learning, are necessary.
