🌟 Student Spotlight 🌟
Meet Gates, an 8th grader at Topsail Middle School, who is being recognized for his leadership and kindness. Gates leads by example—he is respectful, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand. Instead of telling others what to do, he includes everyone and encourages his peers to do their best. His kindness shines in the way he treats others with care, stands up for what’s right, and makes sure no one feels left out.
At TMS, Gates’ positive personality has made a lasting impact on his classmates and school community. His big heart and steady leadership inspire those around him every day.
Outside of school, Gates enjoys playing basketball, riding his dirt bike, hunting, and fishing. His favorite foods are steak and shrimp, his favorite color is blue, and an interesting fact—he is passionate about his goals and the things he loves most.
💛💙 Congratulations, Gates—you are a great example of Pirate leadership and kindness!

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Chase and Mr. Brittain for facilitating this valuable activity, and to Ms. Wood for her collaboration with the middle school Career Development Coordinator.

This week marked the very first meeting of the Topsail Middle School MathCounts Club — and what an exciting start it was!
MathCounts pushes students to think critically, solve complex problems, and work both independently and as a team. It builds confidence, sharpens analytical thinking, and shows kids that math can be fun, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. 🧠💡
A huge thank you to all the parents who dropped their students off early and to our amazing parent-coach! We’re looking forward to a great year of math challenges, teamwork, and personal growth. Let’s go Pirates! 🏴☠️➗✖️

**POSTPONED** Tonight's (9/29) TMS Softball game has been postponed along with all other after school practices/activities.

Students in Mrs. Fabbie’s 5th-grade class had a great time diving into their historical fiction novel Thunder Rolling in the Mountains as part of our ELA curriculum!
To kick things off, she held a Book Tasting — a fun and interactive way to spark curiosity and excitement about reading. Book tastings allow students to “sample” a new text, notice important details, and start asking questions about what the story might hold.
Our young readers are off to a strong start, and we can’t wait to see where this journey through history takes them!

FCA launched its first leader meetings to start planning for this year's huddles. This week, students came together to pray for the national "See You At the Pole" event. FCA huddles will begin in October at TMS.
We are grateful to our wonderful PTO for treating the TMS staff to a fantastic lunch! A big thank you to Texas Roadhouse for donating the delicious rolls, salad, and dressing, and to Publix for the tasty chicken tenders. What a great way to show appreciation!
