THS Coast Guard JROTC cadets visited the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter RICHARD SNYDER, a 154' Fast Response Cutter based out of Atlantic Beach, NC. During the visit, the cadets learned first-hand about the cutter's missions and capabilities while having the opportunity to engage with the Cutter's Officers and crew to learn about their positions and experiences on board the cutter.

Developing service-minded citizens of character is a primary goal of THS's Coast Guard JROTC program. As participants in the NC Dept of Transportation's Adopt a Highway Program, THS Coast Guard JROTC Cadets recently teamed up with Prospective Chief Petty Officers from local Coast Guard units to remove trash from Transfer Station Road as a community service project .
