Every student who participated should be extremely proud of their hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship. Beyond building sheds, students built connections — networking with contractors, learning from industry professionals, and even receiving job offers along the way!

Our cadets traveled to Modern Aviation in Wilmington where they met an air crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, NC for an unforgettable C-130 flight experience.
Forty-nine cadets flew along the coast of North Carolina, completed touch-and-go landings, and were able to safely move throughout the aircraft mid-flight. Many had the incredible opportunity to visit the flight deck during takeoff, in flight, and landing. Cadets explored the main cabin, looked out the portholes, and spent time on the back deck and cargo hatch. For some, this was their very first flight ever!
Ethan Houston shared, “My favorite part of the day was getting to be in the cockpit during takeoff. It was really cool — something I’ve never experienced before.”
Anderson Elliott added, “I think being able to experience something like that was a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
We are incredibly grateful to Modern Aviation and the United States Coast Guard for providing our students with this amazing hands-on experience and for supporting the future leaders of Topsail High School. 🇺🇸
