As many of you know Dr. Brown retired at the end of the school year, so this year we have a new counseling team. We are excited to welcome Ms. Preston and Ms. Wood to the nest! Ms. Preston will be with us full time and Ms. Wood will be splitting time between TAES and TMS. Please give them a warm welcome to the famiyl!
Due to our growing numbers, we are adding some additional classroom teachers to continue to keep our small class size numbers. We are now looking to add a 1st and 3rd grade teacher.
We are also still looking for 2 instructional assistant/bus drivers. This is such an important position for our school. It is essential for providing extra support of our student learning and keeping students safe to and from school. We know the bus is intimidating, but we promise it is not once you start doing it. We have changes to our arrival and dismissal protocol due to the new three tier bell system. Please note our new start and end times, as well as early dismissal time:
Arrival: 7:25 - 7:55
Tardy Bell: 7:55
Ending Bell: 2:50
Dismissal: 2:50
Early Release: 11:55 pm

Our arrival AND dismissal will be using Jenkins RD to enter, come through the front parking lot and playground of the school, and exit on Vista LN. You will NOT be wrapping around the high school, you will be going through the front of the high school.
Please note that due to the tiered system, families will NOT be able to line up significantly early.
For arrival, TAES car rider gate will not open until 7:15 am. TAES car riders should not enter Jenkins RD until 7:15 am or they may be required to move through the high school car line and reenter.
For dismissal, TAES car rider gate will not open until 2:30 pm. TAES cars should not enter Jenkins RD until 2:30 pm or you may be required to go through the high school car line and reenter.

Our first summer project is complete. We have brand new wall mats for the gym as an added safety feature. Thank you so much to our PTA for putting together and funding the project, as well as Renovation church for helping with installation.

Even when school is out for summer, Pender County Schools continues to support our students and families. 🌞🍎
PCS is proud to partner once again with the NC Department of Public Instruction, No Kid Hungry NC, and the Carolina Hunger Initiative to offer free summer meals for children 18 and younger. Beginning Wednesday, June 18 through July 30, families can pick up 5 days’ worth of breakfast 🥣 and lunch 🥪 at four school sites—South Topsail, C.F. Pope, Malpass Corner, and Rocky Point Elementary—every Wednesday from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. 📍⏰
