PCS CTE Job Shadow Day - Aria from Surf City Middle shadowed BM1 Allen at Camp Lejeune Coast Guard Special Missions Training Center. She observed high risk coxswain training from the water, participated in weapons instruction simulation and even got to drive the boat!

Good morning Shark Families! Please have students log in to learning to record attendance by 10:30 AM this morning. All 1st-period Google Classrooms have an attendance question or Google Form to mark attendance. This will help our team to mark attendance for the virtual day today accurately. Students can reach out to teachers directly if they have any questions on the assigned work. We look forward to having our students back in the building on Friday.

Ms. Smith just participated in a DPI panel talking about the new NC Career Development Plan legislation. PCS and Johnston County were asked to discuss how we implemented the legislation this year. Dr. Kisha Bryant from DPI Student Services was the facilitator as DPI continues to educate districts that this is not a CTE initiative but is for ALL students. Ms. Smith and other PCS counselors were specifically called on to give feedback about the CDP activities from a building/classroom perspective; the pros and cons of what PCS has done in our first year; and the value of the CDP from the Student Services perspective. There were 51 participants on the call from at least 15 districts. A huge shoutout to Ms. Smith for her continued hard work and dedication to our students. She is a true leader by example and continues to be a role model for all.
