Mrs. Hill’s Science class wrapped up our unit on Forces and Simple Machines by building and testing Catapults. The kids did an amazing job and really surprised me with their creative ideas for the catapults. They had a blast testing them and then competing with each other to see whose was the most accurate and precise and whose had the most Force to go the longest distance!!

Thanks to our office staff for a great breakfast this morning!

We had an AMAZING author visit today from Nathan Hale! We created our own comics and learned all about President James A Garfield. If your student attended the session, ask him/her how President Garfield actually died. Many thanks to the NC Arts Council's Grassroots Grant program for helping us bring Mr. Hale to our school. We also want to give special recognition to student Lee Scott who recommended the Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales series for our library and helped to create a lot of excitement for the books and the visit with Lee's Book Reviews on our morning announcements!
