A big shout out to Nurse Jamie Uhlman and our Project ADAM team. Project ADAM (Automated Defibrillators in Adam’s Memory) is a national program that was first launched in North Carolina by the Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center in 2019. The program is dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac arrest in schools by establishing comprehensive emergency plans and promoting heart health awareness. At Surf City Middle we are committed to the safety of our students, staff, and visitors!

✂️ Back-to-School Haircuts! ✂️ Cape Fear Community College is offering free haircuts this Saturday, August 24, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Barber School located at 108 Walnut St. No appointments needed—just walk in! All haircuts will be supervised by a licensed instructor and are first-come, first-served. Remember, students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Get ready for the new school year with a fresh look!

Due to severe weather, all PCS facilities will close and after-school events are canceled starting at 4 PM today, August 6. This includes schools and admin buildings. Penderlea and Pender Early College students will dismiss on time. Emergency staff will be contacted if needed.

Attention New PCS Families: Our enrollment process has changed and we are currently using a paper enrollment packet. This can be picked up at the SCM office. Please bring the following items with you when coming in to enroll your student: *birth certificate *parent's photo ID *proof of residency (current power, water, or cable bill, current lease agreement, or closing documents if you have purchased your home) ***Please note that a purchase contract for a home is not an acceptable proof of residence.*** *While you are here, we will also notarize the affidavit of transfer for you at no charge. In addition to the above, we will also need the following before the start of school: *NC Health Assessment if transferring to a NC school for the first time *immunization records *if applicable, legal documentation (custody papers, etc) *if available, IEP, 504, or AIG documentation Finally, please call ahead to ensure someone is in the office to assist you with the enrollment process.
