
Second Grade released their butterflies today! The butterflies did not want to leave our students' sides and gave them a nice thank you before flying away to find their new home!





Ms. Mizell's third graders took their learning out into the sun this week. They worked on reviewing 2D geometric shapes as well as identifying living things with this outdoor exploration activity.




Thankful for these Topsail High School lacrosse players helping out on car-rider duty this morning.



Check out Mrs. Curry's first graders learning all about fluency. They are reading with expression, paying attention to punctuation and reading in phrases with their poems each day. On Friday they'll celebrate by having a Poetry Slam where each student gets to show off their fluent reading in front of the class by reading the poem they practiced all week.





This week 4th graders read a selection about the history of Double Dutch jump roping. They learned about the "Fantastic Four", a group of four girls from NYC who traveled the world competing and are still friends today. Today they tried some Double Dutch jumping at recess.




Tomorrow, the Singing Sea Turtles will be performing a spring concert from 6-6:30pm and immediately following will be the next general membership PTA meeting. They will have a movie available for any children that need to accompany their parents to the meeting.

Let's help support our middle school band program! This Saturday they are having a used instrument drive and are interested in ANY instrument. New, used, or broken doesn't matter, they'll take anything. Most of these instruments will be used to help students who cannot afford an instrument to be able to participate in band in the coming years.


3rd grades students had a great time yesterday visiting Wonder Works in Myrtle Beach. This field trip allowed them to experience their science standards with a hands-on approach. They used everything from force & motion, energy transfer, the solar system plus much more.


Kind people are the best kind of people. Good thing our school is full of kind people!

In art, 4th grade is currently working on a pastel collage. For this project, they're learning about symmetry, blending and texture. Keep up the great work 4th grade!

Kindergarten has thoroughly enjoyed their science for the 4th quarter as they compared the characteristics of living and nonliving things by taking care of eggs as they grew into chicks. What a great experience for these young scientists!

4th grades students had a great time last Friday visiting Tryon Palace in New Bern. It was the first permanent capitol of NC and students visited to see how early colonists lived and to see the first governor's palace. They also studied the history of the Coastal Plain region of NC.
