Mrs. Royal's Kindergarten class had a great discussion this morning about Groundhog Day and then created a chart based on their predictions. We'll see what happens!



4th graders are currently creating animal folders to collect all their animal research information. They're finding out how the animal adapts, exploring the habitat as well as other cool facts. They're using the library to find books and learning how to cite their sources correctly. Keep up the great work!

Sharky and the Wilmington Sharks staff visited all grades today to read a book and kick off their reading program, Read Around the Bases. Students can earn Sharks tickets if they accomplish their reading goals. The tickets can be used on June 1. ⚾🦈📚

Mrs. Allen's 2nd grade class earned enough Surf Points for a reward day. They're enjoying some cave time as they learn while also checking the weather stats from our very own weather station.

Thanks to our awesome Surf City Police for sitting down to eat lunch with our 3rd graders. It is their goal to be at SCE and SCM each month, eating lunch and talking with students. So thankful to be part of this great community!




Ms. Taylor's first grade class has been researching polar bears this week. After finding out a lot of new information, they used it to compare their bodies to the 10 foot polar bear body and how far they can jump since a polar bear can jump 12 feet! 🐻❄️





Due to the threat of severe weather in the area, all Pender County Schools after school activities on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 have been canceled. #PCSPride


Congratulations to Mrs. Xavier's 5th grade class. They're the most recent winner of the Golden Trash Can award. Mr. Jeff said that this class has matured this year into responsible care takers of their room. Your school is proud of you!
