We're happy to share with you that Ruby S. from Mrs. Appelson's 2nd grade class is our final Sea Turtle of the Week for the 22-23 school year. Ruby, your school is proud of you.

We're so proud of these 5th grade students and are going to miss them next year. We know you're going to do great things as a shark at Surf City Middle. 🦈 Remember to come back and say hi to your Sea Turtle family! 🐢

Almost 3 months ago, Turkey was hit by a massive earthquake. Our school community stepped up and began to collect coins to help. We knew that Turkey would require continued help long after the disaster as they were facing overwhelming devastation on all levels. Listen to this GREAT news...through our coin drive, we're able to send over $1,641.23 to Turkey to help with anything from medical needs to rebuilding homes and living expenses. Great work Sea Turtles helping others in need. 💚💙

Mrs. Taylor's first grade class is enjoying a fun filled science day on this rainy Friday. Great work, scientists.

Kindergarten has been studying the work of authors Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen with their shape trilogy series. Rosalie in Mrs. Harbin's class decided to make some great representations of the characters by using the straws in library class.

Thanks to all your support during our Book Fairs, one of the things the library was able to do was to buy 2 chess tables for students to use. Adding chess to our library will encourage problem solving skills as well as build respect and cooperation as students begin to play each other.
