Proud of our Sea Turtles, McKenna & Annabelle, who were recognized tonight at the BOE meeting for their Science Fair project. 💙🐢💚

Check out these awesome students in Mrs. Rice's 4th grade class. Students worked in small groups to create a skit about the novel, Hatchet. The main character, Brian, has a decision to make. Once completed, the groups performed their skits for the class.

Kindergarten was busy today! Mrs. McDonald's class worked in pairs to find details in their book, The Little House. They have been working on topic sentences and key details. 📚 Across the hall, Mrs. Harbin's class worked on a St. Patricks Day science experiment with Leprechaun rocks. They poured “magic potion” (vinegar) on their rocks and found gold coins. ☘️

The Master Gardner's visited first grade this week. Their lesson this month was all about plants and what a plant needs to grow. Mrs. Bricken's class planted some dandelion seeds to grow for the sea turtles at the Sea Turtle Hospital. 🐢

Second grade loves mystery readers! Mrs. Livesey shares some time in Mrs. Allen’s second grade class with a wonderful book called, “What Would You Do With A Chance?", all about being brave, letting go of fear, and taking a chance.

We're happy to share with you that Georgia C. from Mrs. Buss' Kindergarten class is our Sea Turtle of the Week for the week of March 11-15 Georgia, your school is proud of you. 💚🐢💙

Yesterday was a busy day at SCE. Our PreK through 2nd grade classes enjoyed a performance by the wonderful music artist, Zak Morgan, while our amazing Kindergarten team pulled off a fun Kinder Registration event in Rocky Point right after school.

Mrs. Meadow's PreK class is enjoying their Tuesday in more ways than one. First, they enjoyed a science experiment with their special friend Charlie. Second, the class helped put together a learning toy purchased with their Jones Onslow Grant. Enjoy your day, PreK!

Check out Mrs. Harbin's Kindergarten class enjoying an outdoor alphabet and sound hunt.

Our PreK kids enjoyed their new playground today! ☀️

Mrs. Holmes's class held a Socratic Seminar focused on a character in the book "Tea with Milk" from their current Wit and Wisdom lessons. They are becoming much more comfortable with contributing to this whole-group discussion format while also using evidence from the book and 'active listening.' Mrs. Holmes is proud of them!

Mrs. Taylor's 1st grade class has been reading the book “Never Smile at a Monkey”. Today the kiddos finished their writing about what the authors point was and the reasons to support it. They've practiced writing topic sentences and conclusions and adding illustrations with details. Great work first grade! 🐵
