Are you looking for some summer music opportunities? Here's one for you! Mrs. Black will be teaching a 2-day camp at UNCW June 17th-18th. The camp is open to rising 2nd-5th graders, and costs only $55 for RPE students since we are a Title I school! Please reach out with any questions!

Hungry For Music donated 6 instruments to the @rpe_rams orchestra program. The nonprofit has donated a total of 14 instruments to RPE - 13 violins, and 1 cello. The RPE orchestra was started by Laura Black in '22 and consists of approximately 40 1st-5th gr students 🎶
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Rocky Point Elementary just received 6 instruments from Hungry for Music, an organization that collects used instruments and distributes them to schools in need. The organization was able to donate 5 violins and 1 cello for our growing string orchestra! If your student is interested in joining our orchestra strings program, please email Mrs. Black at laura_black@pender.k12.nc.us. Lessons will be taught over the summer!

Monday - "Shine with Pride" - Wear RPE gear or royal blue
Tuesday - "Slam Dunk the EOGs" - Wear jerseys, team, or sports attire
Wednesday - "Study buddies help each other do their best on the test!" - Dress the same as a friend
Thursday - "Don't Sweat the Test!" - Wear sweatpants or athletic attire
Friday - "Way to Knock the Socks Off the EOGs!" - Wear crazy socks
End-of-grade testing is starting for our 3rd-5th grade students this week. Please make sure that students are well-rested, eat a good breakfast, and are on time to school; the school day starts at 7:20am. We want to make sure that every child is set up for success!
Have you gotten your yearbook yet? Better hurry up - supplies are limited! Books can be purchased in the front office for $25 (cash only). There's an "All About Me" page, a signature page, and every student is in the yearbook more than once. And check out that amazing cover, drawn by 5th grader Leigh Lou!
Congratulations to Mrs. Nikki Braune, Mrs. Marcie Black, and Mrs. Jenna Hunter Coleman on being recognized as an educator of excellence at PCS Awards Banquet this week! Mrs. Braune was nominated as an Assistant Principal of the Year, Mrs. Black was voted Rocky Point's Teacher of the Year, and Ms. Hunter Coleman was selected as a Teacher of Promise. We are so proud that these phenomenal educators choose to call RPE home!

The 2nd and 3rd graders will be presenting their Spring Performances, followed by Transition Night, which is for our rising Kindergarten-5th Grade students. At Transition Night, families will get to visit their student's grade level team for next year and learn more about what they will do in that grade.
