We want to give a huge "Thank You!" To the Assistance League of Greater Wilmington, as they donated books for each 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grader to take home! Students had the opportunity to pick their book & we hope they'll read them over the summer!
But that's not it! Author Bill Shomo visited to read his book "Topsy's Big Escape" to our students. This true story is about the time in 1922 that an elephant escaped from the circus that was visiting Wilmington and caused havoc and damage all over downtown Wilmington! There is even a building downtown that still has a crack in the wall from where Topsy crashed into the building. Ask your students about what other craziness ensued! We're also thankful to Ms. Stewart for reading the story to us! (Post 2/2)

Ready, Set, Roll!
Ms. Sidbury's 5th grade students built Marble Roller Coasters out of nothing except paper and tape! Students finished this project by having a Marble Run Race - congrats to our winners!
And one of our favorite parts? Some students decided to take their roller coaster home to improve it and try again. We are so proud of their growth mindset! #OnePender

Students worked together to keep our school clean while learning how even small actions can make a big difference for our planet. Way to go to these Rams for showing responsibility and pride in your environment!

🌟 Feature Friday: Employee Spotlight 🌟
This week we’re recognizing Ms. Crystal Milam, 1st Grade Instructional Assistant at Rocky Point Elementary School.
Ms. Milam is someone you can always count on to step in and help. She supports her classroom each day, but her impact goes beyond that. She has helped with school events like Hispanic Heritage Night and often volunteers to assist with decorating for concerts and performances.
In the classroom, she is patient and attentive, especially with students who need extra support. She doesn’t wait to be asked—she notices what needs to be done and takes care of it. Whether it’s helping a student during a lesson or stepping in during a special area class, she stays engaged and focused on student needs.
Ms. Milam also brings a positive attitude to the school each day. She is approachable, encouraging, and always willing to support her coworkers.
💛💙 Thank you, Ms. Milam, for the support you provide to students, staff, and the Rocky Point Elementary community.
