Third grade is in our 3rd module in wit and wisdom “A New Home” reading the book “The Keeping Quilt” by Patricia Polacco, which is an immigration story where a family created and passed down a quilt through generations with special pieces of cloth from family members which tells a story. In our lesson today, we created a class quilt with our special memories from 3rd grade! #OnePender
It's time to order your student's 2024-25 yearbook! The yearbook is a beautiful memento to document our students' fun-filled year, and each student will be featured in the yearbook! 📚TEACHER TUESDAY - Jessica Feit, 4th Grade Teacher at Rocky Point Elementary!🌟
From an early age, Jessica Feit had a passion for teaching—so much so that she would come home from kindergarten and “teach” her newborn baby sisters and even her pets! 🍼🐶 As she grew older, that passion turned into a commitment to helping students, especially those who needed extra support.
Her favorite subject to teach is math, where she thrives on witnessing that "ah-ha" moment when a difficult concept finally clicks for a student. One of her most memorable teaching moments was working with a student who struggled with confidence in math. Through a personalized study plan and encouragement, she watched him transform into a top math student—ultimately scoring a 4 on the EOG! Seeing students gain confidence and unlock their potential is what drives her every day. 🔢✨
Outside the classroom, Jessica enjoys reading, running, going to the beach, and dining out. She has recently taken up crafting as a way to unwind after a long day of teaching. 🎨🏖️
At home, she has two adorable kittens, Scout and Piper. Scout is the mischievous one, always getting into trouble, while Piper is more reserved—but both love their belly rubs and head pats. 🐱🐾
Jessica is also an avid traveler! Her favorite destination so far has been Madrid, and she’s looking forward to exploring Prague and Vienna this year. ✈️🌍
This school year has had its challenges, but Jessica’s personal mottos—"You're doing great, sweetie" and "Just keep swimming"—keep her motivated and remind her to take things one step at a time. 💙🐠

Mrs. Bassano's kindergarten class and Mrs. Weber's 5th grade class are pen pals! This activity provides learning opportunities for our kindergarten students to work with their 5th-grade role models, practice writing, and strengthen connections with their current Wit & Wisdom module, "America Then and Now," by writing letters instead of emailing or texting.
Try teaching your student how to write and address a letter to mail to a loved one; it's a great experience!

The HOSA club at Topsail High School is hosting its annual Daddy-Daughter Princess Night on February 8th from 5:00 - 7:00pm in the Topsail High School cafeteria. Our 1st and 2nd graders have learned all about civil rights and the positive character traits that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. taught us about!
TEACHER TUESDAY - Elizabeth Hardee, Pre-K Teacher at Rocky Point Elementary! 🌟🍎
With over 25 years of teaching experience in both private and public education, Elizabeth Hardee has built a career dedicated to fostering growth and development in her young learners.
Ms. Hardee loves teaching social and emotional skills using the Conscious Discipline Curriculum. She finds it especially rewarding to see students develop self-awareness and positive interactions that set them up for success both inside and outside the classroom. 💕
One of Ms. Hardee’s most treasured teaching moments happens at the beginning of each school year when her students share their favorite parts of school. Overwhelmingly, they mention “Ms. Hardee” herself, along with her warm hugs and kind words. These connections mean the world to her, as she continues to cheer her students on as they grow and move through other grades.
Outside of school, Ms. Hardee enjoys relaxing with her husband, boating, and listening to music. She especially loves taking rides to the island and spending time with her three beloved rescue beagles: Benatar (her angel dog), Rambo (the dog who loves to eat everything), and Harley Bug, her playful blue tick beagle. 🐾🐕
Her favorite getaway is Surfside Beach, South Carolina, where she finds peace and relaxation by the ocean. 🏖️
