Some people lead a school. Some people become the heart of it. ❤️
Today, we are beyond proud to celebrate our principal, Ms. April Perkins, for being named the 2026 Pender County Schools Principal of the Year!
This recognition is so well deserved and such a reflection of the care, encouragement, and love she pour into our students, staff, and families every single day. Whether it’s greeting students in the hallway, supporting teachers, celebrating successes big and small, or simply making Rocky Point feel like home, Ms. Perkins leads with heart first.
Our school is better because of them, and we are so lucky they are our principal. Congratulations on this incredible honor, Ms. Perkins! Your Rams family is cheering so loudly for you today!

💙✨ It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! ✨💙
This week, we’re celebrating the heart, dedication, patience, creativity, and love our teachers pour into our students every single day. 🍎📚
Students and families from across our district sent in video messages to help us say one big, heartfelt THANK YOU. To make sure every school community can be celebrated together, we’ve combined the messages into one special video per school, and we’ll be sharing them throughout the week. 🎥🏫
These videos are filled with smiles, gratitude, and reminders of the incredible impact teachers make far beyond the classroom. 💛
To every teacher: thank you for showing up, lifting up, encouraging, inspiring, and believing in our students. You are appreciated more than words can say. 🌟

It's Testing Time! Our students have worked incredibly hard all year and now they have the chance to show us what they learned!
Test time can be a very stressful time, so we want to do everything we can to assure students that they are prepared and just need to use the strategies they've learned all year.
So...we're having a Spirit Week to celebrate all of this year's accomplishments! Check out the themes for each day and show up with that positive attitude you e had all year!
And remember, you can do this!!

We want to give a huge "Thank You!" To the Assistance League of Greater Wilmington, as they donated books for each 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grader to take home! Students had the opportunity to pick their book & we hope they'll read them over the summer!
But that's not it! Author Bill Shomo visited to read his book "Topsy's Big Escape" to our students. This true story is about the time in 1922 that an elephant escaped from the circus that was visiting Wilmington and caused havoc and damage all over downtown Wilmington! There is even a building downtown that still has a crack in the wall from where Topsy crashed into the building. Ask your students about what other craziness ensued! We're also thankful to Ms. Stewart for reading the story to us! (Post 2/2)

Ready, Set, Roll!
Ms. Sidbury's 5th grade students built Marble Roller Coasters out of nothing except paper and tape! Students finished this project by having a Marble Run Race - congrats to our winners!
And one of our favorite parts? Some students decided to take their roller coaster home to improve it and try again. We are so proud of their growth mindset! #OnePender

Ms. Tidler’s 3rd grade class rolled up their sleeves and got to work picking up trash around campus to celebrate Earth Day! Students worked together to keep our school clean while learning how even small actions can make a big difference for our planet. Way to go to these Rams for showing responsibility and pride in your environment!
