Because of the expected winter weather across our area this weekend, Pender County Schools will have a “snow day” on Monday, February 2nd.
A decision regarding Tuesday’s schedule will be announced at a later date to allow us to check on facilities and travel conditions. Teachers will prepare their students for the possibility of a remote learning day, we ask that families be prepared as well. Announcements will be made using our normal channels.

PCS Superbowl Reading Challenge begins January 24, 2026 to kick-off NFL Championship Weekend leading up to the Superbowl. Staff and students may participate. Every thousand minutes logged per school will equal one touchdown with 7 points.
The school with the most touchdowns wins the game at the end of Superbowl Weekend (midnight, Feb 8, 2026).
The winning school will receive an ice cream party for students and a staff breakfast or luncheon.
Don't Forget! The Book Fair will be open until 7pm - it's your last chance to purchase some great books! Also, the PTO will be selling refreshments.

As the weather forecast continues to trend warmer Sunday into Monday, Pender County Schools will operate on a normal schedule on Monday, January 26th.
The latest information from the National Weather Service shows a "high confidence" of rain as temperatures warm on Sunday. We will continue to keep an eye on the weather and make any adjustments if necessary.

A medida que el pronóstico del tiempo continúa indicando temperaturas más cálidas desde el domingo hasta el lunes, las Escuelas del Condado de Pender operarán con un horario normal el lunes 26 de enero.
La información más reciente del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional muestra una “alta probabilidad” de lluvia a medida que las temperaturas aumenten el domingo. Continuaremos monitoreando las condiciones del tiempo y realizaremos cualquier ajuste necesario si se requiere.

Tomorrow is the big day! Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades are presenting their Winter Concert at 5:30 in the gym.

Our Winter Book Fair will be open from January 21st through January 27th in the media center. Students will have the opportunity to purchase items before school and during their media specials time.
The Book Fair will also be open until 7pm on the Winter Concert Nights (January 22nd and January 27th).

Our Winter Concerts are almost here! The students are so excited to share what they've been working on in music class. Come on out and celebrate our musicians! While you're there, you can also visit the Book Fair, which will be open until 7pm on concert nights!
Kindergarten-2nd grade - Thursday, January 22nd at 5:30pm
3rd-5th Grade - Tuesday, January 27th at 5:30pm
Students should arrive by 5:20 at the latest and "dress to impress!" See you there!

Don't forget our PARENT'S NIGHT OUT tonight from 5:30-8:30pm. Entry is $20 per family, but remember to send extra money for snacks and concessions! We can't wait to party with everyone tonight!
