Third graders in Ms. Aluise’s class learned all about the importance of handwashing with the help of Nurse Brown! 🧼✨ Students discovered that keeping germs away means washing with soap and warm water for 20 seconds. We even did a germ experiment—and wow! We could really see what happens when guidelines aren’t followed. Learning (and staying healthy) can be fun!

These are from two math classes and we are learning about ordering positive and negative numbers. Students had a set amount of time, and couldn’t talk to each other, to get in the correct order for a number line representing positive and negative numbers.

Did someone say 101 reasons to celebrate? 🎉🐶 Our 2nd graders turned the usual 100‑day milestone into a memorable 101 Days of School party — inspired by 101 Dalmatians! Students dressed up, practiced counting to 101, and enjoyed themed crafts and games. It was full of laughter, teamwork, and adorable spots.

Penderlea 8th graders completed plans for high school as part of NC Career Development Plan legislation. PHS career development coordinator, Ms. Stokes, along with Ms. Thompson from PLS, joined the middle school career development coordinator and other Penderlea staff to bring this activity to students. Students reviewed high school electives and core course options in order to make a targeted plan prior to 9th grade registration which will take place in February. They stored their plans in a high school Google Classroom that will roll up with them. Ask them to show you their plan!
