In World History this week, students explored the causes and impacts of World War I by building and managing alliances. We then visually noted how vastly the world was impacted through this major conflict using yarn to connect involvement.

Spies or not, alliances in the build up to war were important in the causes of World War I.

As many as 30 countries were highlighted in the interconnected yarn of the first world war.

On Monday, students ventured to Jengo's Playhouse to learn from Cucalorus Film Academy. We were welcomed in style with popcorn and our name on the marquee.

Students and Mr. Patton were able to perform in a short film by completing voiceovers and learning how audio technology works.

We were able to examine multiple short films through the years of the Cucalorus Film Festival and discuss each.

They had popcorn waiting on us! Some claim it's the best in town!

Exciting news from CFCC!

New French course offerings are coming this summer and fall.

This summer, CFCC will offer French 1 and French 2 online. In the fall, students can take French 1 and French 2 in person or online, and French 3 will be offered online.

Registration opens:

Thanks to everyone who came out to support PECHS' club volley ball team at the tournament on Saturday! They played hard! If you would like to support them they kick off a Krispy Kreme fundraiser on Monday, April 13th. Buy one dozen for $15. Pick up will be on Wednesday, May 6th. Local delivery in Wilmington and Burgaw is available. Just reach out to a volleyball player or Ms. Grable. Big Shout out to Erica Rock's mother for making a generous donation already!

Shout out to the Pender County Schools Teen Court Team over the weekend! at the Teen Court Summit. Aiden won Best Defendant and was able to take home a trophy, and Alana won Summit Spirit after being nominated by other counties based on her good sportsmanship. #OnePender

Our county ROCAME team brought home the trophy for the third year in a row! With students from West Pender Middle, Penderlea, Topsail High, and PECHS, it was truly a student-led county partnership. Our PCS team represented us with leadership, sportsmanship, and team spirit. Congrats to our winners and thank you to ROCAME for putting on this event!
