🌟 Student Spotlight 🌟
Lilly is a 10th grader at Pender Early College High School (PECHS), recognized for academic excellence.
Lilly has had a strong start in her classes this year. She completes her work carefully and stays focused on her assignments. Her teacher shared that she also helps classmates when needed and takes an active role during group work.
Even though she is more quiet, Lilly leads by example. Her consistency and effort have made a positive impact in her English class and have not gone unnoticed.
Outside of school, Lilly enjoys drawing 🎨, ice skating ⛸️, and ballet 🩰. Her favorite food is spaghetti 🍝, and her favorite color is blue 💙. She has two cats, Gary and Leo 🐱, and a dog named Leila 🐶. One interesting fact—Lilly plays the flute 🎶.

Shout out to PECHS student Samuel Ramirez-Santiago who celebrated his first year in the CFCC culinary arts program with their international street food fair! All food was made by Samuel and his classmates! #PECHStrong
In World History this week, students explored the causes and impacts of World War I by building and managing alliances. We then visually noted how vastly the world was impacted through this major conflict using yarn to connect involvement.
On Monday, students ventured to Jengo's Playhouse to learn from Cucalorus Film Academy. We were welcomed in style with popcorn and our name on the marquee.

New French course offerings are coming this summer and fall.
This summer, CFCC will offer French 1 and French 2 online. In the fall, students can take French 1 and French 2 in person or online, and French 3 will be offered online.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support PECHS' club volley ball team at the tournament on Saturday! They played hard! If you would like to support them they kick off a Krispy Kreme fundraiser on Monday, April 13th. Buy one dozen for $15. Pick up will be on Wednesday, May 6th. Local delivery in Wilmington and Burgaw is available. Just reach out to a volleyball player or Ms. Grable. Big Shout out to Erica Rock's mother for making a generous donation already!

PECHS House Fair is this Friday from 1:30 - 3:00 PM. Come and see how our students helped nonprofits this year. Something Sweet Ice Cream Truck will be on campus from 1 to 3pm (CASH ONLY).

Not only is Nurse Avery a fabulous school nurse, she is also a great teacher! Our anatomy students learned how to take blood pressure and how to perform CPR. Thanks for keeping us "Stayin' Alive" (the perfect beat for chest compressions), Nurse Avery!
