PECHS is holding a one time zero hassle yearly fundraiser for our general fund. This will be used for : Field Trips ; University Visits; School Supplies; Refreshments/prizes for Students; Games and Athletic Gear and much more. Penderlea School and Pender Early College will reopen for in-person classes on Monday, August 12. Buses will operate safely. All schools and the central office will follow their normal schedules. We’re excited to welcome our students back! #OnePender


I want to thank our students and families for adjusting to virtual classes this week due to Tropical Storm Debby. We had over 90% of our students attend virtual classes this week! Also thank you teachers for transitioning your plans to online teaching. #PECHStrong


Due to flooding, Pender County Schools will be closed for students on 8/9. Penderlea and Pender Early College will continue virtual learning. Staff can report if safe; contact your supervisor if working virtually. All after-school activities are canceled. Stay safe! #OnePender

Due to severe weather, all PCS facilities will close and after-school events are canceled starting at 4 PM today, August 6. This includes schools and admin buildings. Penderlea and Pender Early College students will dismiss on time. Emergency staff will be contacted if needed.


Exciting News! ALL PECHS Students will receiving FREE Breakfast/Lunch thanks to the CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) Grant for the 2024/2025 School year!

PECHS take Washington! PECHS students who were part of Upward Bound were in Washington DC this week. Upward Bound offers academic advising, tutoring, enrichment activities, university tours, and engaging summer camps to students living on the western side of the county.

Student Spotlight: Johnathan Davis is 5th year PECHS student where he is working on his associate’s degree in Mechatronics. This summer Jonathan participated Co-op program with the Corning Optical Fiber Plant in Wilmington, NC. This experience was a hands-on experience in various industrial, electrical, and mechanical systems. Jonathan feels confident that he will have the skills and knowledge to be successful in his chosen career path. Jonathan says "I know that I would not have had this amazing experience without the help of my CFCC instructors and PECHS staff."
