Here's what's happening at PECHS in October!
PECHS Applications for the 2027-28 school year are now open to all current 8th graders! Apply now at our website: https://www.pender.k12.nc.us/o/pechs/page/admission
Mums ordered during the PTA fundraiser can be picked by students or parents Thursday, October 1st and Friday October 2nd from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Pickup will be in Room 102 on the PECHS campus (the industrial room with the bay door on right side of the building)!

PECHS' Opening House Ceremony is next Friday, October 2nd! The House procession starts at 12:30 to the Burgaw courthouse, followed by our opening games at 1:00 PM! The Something Cool food truck will also be on campus from 1-3pm (cash only)! Families are welcome!

Through NC College Connect, every North Carolina public school senior who is on track to graduate now has direct admission to at least one participating college for fall 2027. More than 90 colleges and universities across the state are participating. 🎉
✅ Every on-track senior is directly admitted to their local community college.
✅ Students with a 2.8 weighted GPA or higher who are taking a fourth-level math course may also receive offers from participating UNC System universities and independent colleges.
✅ No essay, test score or recommendation letter is required for the direct-admission offer.
📲 What should you do now? Log in to your CFNC student account at NCCollegeConnect.org to see your offers, then talk with your school counselor about your options, financial aid and next steps.
📅 College Application Week is Oct. 19-25, and students who accept an NC College Connect offer during that week can avoid most application fees.

Yesterday, PECHS welcomed guest speaker Kara Price from the NC State College of Textiles to teach our students about different textiles and test how they burn! Special thanks to Kara and the Wilson College of Textiles for this fun visit!
