Not only did K-2 enjoy Africa Unplugged yesterday, but 3-5 enjoyed them also! And 3-5 had the opportunity to come forward and dance! #LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreDancing #MusicInOurSchoolsMonth

A few more pictures from our PJ day yesterday. #LearningIsBetterTogetherInPajamas!

What an awesome way to kick off Music In Our Schools Month, than to have Africa Unplugged to come to MCE and perform for us! The theme this year for MIOSM is "United Through Music". As we celebrate the month of March, all over America through music, we are reminded how important and awesome music is to everyone, no matter the age or genre. Let's remember, music can bring us together in so many ways, despite our differences.

This week we are celebrating Read Across America. Read Across America is the first week of March each year however we were on Spring Break last week. Today was Wear PJs day inspired by the book, "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late" by Mo Willems. If you haven't read this book yet, you can find several great versions on YouTube. The students are very familiar with Pigeon as he is one of our favorite characters in the library! Mrs. Boerigter's class and Mrs. Miles are ready to jump into bed when they get home!

The Eagles Nest was represented in Florida last week! Ms. Carroll and one of her students had a chance encounter at Epcot! Check out the smiles! Tomorrow, we'll all be back in the Eagles Nest in Burgaw, NC! Wear your PJs tomorrow In honor of Read Across America week - which we are celebrating a week late due to Spring Break. (No bedroom shoes/slides or stuffed animals and wear PJs that will stand up to recess.)

Congratulations to Ms. Stewart's class! They are the recent A*T*T*E*N*D*A*N*C*E winners for having 100% attendance in class and spelling out the word! The class will receive a special treat and they are already working on spelling it again. (This reward is unlimited for classes.) #LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreTogether

Sometimes our Eagle of the Week tasks for K - 5th doesn't match the skills our PK students are learning. But, our PK students are learning a lot and working hard so on those weeks, they get their own recognition.
