2nd and 3rd met our attendance goal of 95%. All other grade levels and staff also increased attendance last week! Ask the kiddos about our new "Spring into Great Attendance" challenge!

Let's celebrate some of our youngest Eagles and send a big congratulations to our Pre-K Eaglets of the Week! Way to SOAR, Pre-K!

🚍 Help Us Prepare for 2025-26 Bus Routes! 🚍
The Pender County Schools Transportation Department is gearing up for the next school year, and we need YOUR help to ensure accurate bus assignments!
📢 Important Steps for Parents/Guardians:
✅ Check your child’s Parent Letter for their current bus stop details.
✅ If there are NO changes, return the form with all “YES”s circled by April 16, 2025.
✅ If changes are needed, update your info using the Student Ridership Survey (https://bit.ly/4lb0ZLF) by April 16, 2025.
⏳ Deadline Reminders:
🔹 Schools must update all transportation data in Infinite Campus by May 9, 2025.
🔹 The Google Form will NOT reopen during summer – all new student transportation requests will go through Infinite Campus.
📌 Let’s work together to ensure every PCS student has the right bus assignment on day one!

First Grades attendance was up this week!

Please join us in congratulating some of our smallest MCE Eagles on being named "Little Eaglet of the Week" over these past couple of weeks! Way to soar, Pre-K Eaglets!

Come one, come all!! Invite the relatives! It's a great night of fun in the Eagles Nest!

Drum Roll, please!!!

The Eagles Nest is going into grade level battle ... with a CASH WAR! Check out the rules and message your homeroom teacher with questions ... or strategies! 😀 #LearningIsBetterWithFriendlyCompetitionForASchoolGoal

All of our students’ grade level attendance was up this week! Let’s keep this trend going! 4th grade was the only grade level who maintained responsible attendance of 95%!
Tomorrow begins a new adventure with a breakfast cart. We are adding a breakfast cart with grab and go items for students to choose from in the mornings. We are hoping this will help with serving breakfast to all our students more efficiently. The breakfast cart will be the breakfast options for students that arrive after 7:40.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday our 3rd Graders will participate in the CogAt testing unless you have completed an opt out form.
Kindergarten and PK registration is happening now! Please spread the word!
Reassignment Request window closes March 31, 2025. The link is found on our FB page and our website as well as PCS website.
BETA club is collecting the following donations for the Pender County Animal Shelter: cat and dog food, cat and dog treats, cat and dog toys, towels, paper towels, small fleece blankets, puppy and kitten collar and metal food bowls. The homeroom to collect the most will receive an ice cream party!
The MCE crew rocked outfits inspired by our favorite music decade, bringing the rhythm and style to life! 🎶👕🎸 We celebrated Music In Our Schools Month in true throwback fashion! 🎤✨

MCE students are having a "Cash War" March 24-April 4. The goal is for grade levels to get as many pennies as possible, but beware....they can be sabotaged! The winning grade level will get an ice cream celebration. All proceeds will be placed in the PTO fund.

The Book Fair will be open tomorrow from 4:30-5:15pm, before the Talent Show. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Check out those cute little Leprechaun Eagles in Ms. O'London's Classroom! We know they weren't up to St. Paddy's Day shenanigans! Now those tall leprechauns pictured ... we have to keep an out for them! 🍀 💰 🌈 🎩 ☘️

Check out the two latest winners of our MCES attendance challenge! These two classes have spelled the word "attendance" by earning a letter for each day that 100% of their eagles are present! Way to go Mrs. White's class and Mrs. Boerigter's class! Keep up the great work!

Drum roll! Our Eagles of the Week for having SOARing behavior in the cafeteria!

We've got talent, yes we do! We've got talent, come see our show we're preparing for YOU!

Mrs., White's little Leprechaun Eagles say, "We look good in green! Happy St. Paddy's Day from our class to you!" #LearningIsBetterWhenWeWearGreen 🍀🌈

📣 March is Social Work Month 🎉
Meet Abigail Long, one of our dedicated school social workers! Ms. Long is in her 4th year with Pender County Schools and serves as the social worker at Malpass Corner Elementary and West Pender Middle School. She is passionate about supporting students, families, and teachers to overcome challenges and create a positive school environment. ✨
“Whether it's teaching strategies to manage emotions, celebrating a student's success, or simply being a listening ear, my goal is to ensure every student feels supported and heard.”
🎉 Fun Fact: This is Ms. Long's third year coaching the MCES Lego Robotics Team! She loves seeing students use creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to succeed.
Join us in thanking Ms. Long and all our amazing school social workers for their hard work and dedication! 💙👏
