
Here are our Eagles of the Week who had SOARing behavior in the hallway. Way to SOAR Pk -5! And also our SOARing Staff of the Week: Katie White (1st), Chris Speed (Resource) & Heather Blaylock (Interventionist). SOARing staff are allowed to wear jeans on Wednesday & the staff write little notes to each one.

This week we started back with our Eagles of the Week. For the first few weeks of school, students were reminded of the MCE behavior matrix. Now the students get to SOAR! We are also going to recognize "Soaring Staff of the Week" and this week out soaring staff are (l-r) Mrs. Casha, Library/ Mr. Hicks, Multilingual Learner teacher/ Ms. Eason, Regional Instructional Assistant.

Our 1st group of Student Morning Announcers! This year, 5th graders can apply to be a "Morning Announcer" and have the soaring responsibility of sharing daily information over the intercom. Today was our first day and this group did an outstanding job! (Ask your 5th grader what it takes to be a Morning Announcer. There might be a future broadcaster in our school!)

SOARing Eagles watched a bus safety video and practiced an evacuation drill during their Specials classes today. The weather was beautiful and everyone knows how to stay safe on the bus!

We are excited for this school year! Open House is tomorrow night!!!! Kindergarten orientation will begin at 3:00. 1st through 5th is from 4-6. Come out, meet your child’s teacher, find bus information, complete Chromebook agreements, learn about what Communities and Schools has to offer our families, sign up for PTO, sign up for “Rooms (our new family communication app) and many more exciting things! We are looking forward to seeing you there!
The first day of school is quickly approaching! Your school nurse would like to remind our Kindergarten guardians that updated vaccine records are due to the nurse at the start of school for your child. Please see our flyer on our website or our FB page for the vaccines that are required for your child's grade level entry. Please reach out to your child's doctor or the PCHD for questions to be sure your child is up-to-date by the beginning of school.
For the 2023-2024 school year breakfast and lunch will be provided, at no cost, to all students at the following schools. Families are not required to sign up to participate in this program. If you have any questions about this program, please contact the Pender County Schools Nutrition Office, at 910-259-2187.
