Friday schedule

It's "snow" secret that the wintery weather turned our regular schedules upside-down. Thankfully, things are looking up & we'll return to school TOMORROW! We'll begin our day with a mini homeroom session so students can submit their 26-27 course requests. See you in the AM!

Remote learning is "snow" joke! Use this checklist to help you continue to be successful outside of the physical HTHS building.

We have some important tests coming up, too. So, use this time to study and avoid cramming in a blizzard of last-minute review. ❄️

HTHS SparkNC Shines at Apple 🍎
On Friday, January 30, HTHS SparkNC students pitched their Apple App Showcase project at Apple alongside four standout SparkNC teams from across the state. Their blend of creativity, design, and code earned them the Best in Art in Code award. Watching our students confidently share their ideas on such a big stage was a powerful reminder of what happens when innovation meets passion. Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. 🍎🎨💻🚀

Dear Pender County Schools Families,

Because of the expected winter weather across our area this weekend, Pender County Schools will have a “snow day” on Monday, February 2nd.

A decision regarding Tuesday’s schedule will be announced at a later date to allow us to check on facilities and travel conditions. Teachers will prepare their students for the possibility of a remote learning day, we ask that families be prepared as well. Announcements will be made using our normal channels.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. Be safe, have fun, and stay warm!

Congratulations to TWENTY-ONE of our students who were selected to be part of the All-County Band, an ensemble that included our top band students across the county. They only had around 10 hours to rehearse together before their concert last night! ! Keep living the DREAM and making music! We are so proud of you!

We’re excited to share that SparkLab has received both the Bright Ideas Grant and the MakerBot Gives Back Grant!
These grants will allow our Spark Scholars to design, prototype, and iterate using a MakerBot 3D printer while tackling real-world challenges. From bringing student ideas to life to repairing board games for local elementary schools and after-school programs, our students are learning that STEM skills can create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.

This support helps our Spark Scholars grow as creators, problem solvers, and community contributor, one layer at a time.
