Guess what happened when Mr. Mitchell's Horticulture 2 class visited NHC Arboretum? After creating flower models earlier this week, students got to see the real thing in person today! 🌼🌿 It was a beautiful chance to connect hands-on learning with the living examples.

As a culminating activity for their unit on Life in Colonial America, Mrs. Graham’s Extended American History class made their own butter by shaking heavy cream in jars! Students learned that butter didn’t always come from the grocery store and experienced firsthand how much work went into everyday life during colonial times.

🎓Senior Night was a blast! ✨ A College for North Carolina rep walked families through FAFSA and financial aid, and Herff Jones showed attendees how to order caps, gowns, and Class of 2027 gear. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and their next steps!

Have you ever seen encouragement in action? Today students met with MSG (ret.) Steven Caldwell — and also SSG Dunning, Ms. Daniels, Ms. Howell, and Mr. Williams — for a special ASVAB interpretation meeting. Attendees received personalized feedback, cheered each other on, and expressed a strong commitment to improving scores and serving our country.

🎓 PCS SENIORS: You may already have a college acceptance waiting for you!

Through NC College Connect, every North Carolina public school senior who is on track to graduate now has direct admission to at least one participating college for fall 2027. More than 90 colleges and universities across the state are participating. 🎉

✅ Every on-track senior is directly admitted to their local community college.
✅ Students with a 2.8 weighted GPA or higher who are taking a fourth-level math course may also receive offers from participating UNC System universities and independent colleges.
✅ No essay, test score or recommendation letter is required for the direct-admission offer.

📲 What should you do now? Log in to your CFNC student account at NCCollegeConnect.org to see your offers, then talk with your school counselor about your options, financial aid and next steps.

📅 College Application Week is Oct. 19-25, and students who accept an NC College Connect offer during that week can avoid most application fees.
